Mini haul!

Today I went to spend my birthday money (wisely obviously..) and here is what I came back with!

Obviously I can't get a mac voucher without it burning a hole in my pocket until I can spend it! (A L'Oreal true match foundation too)
Left to right: Mac Cherish, Mac mascara, L'Oreal True match, Mac Subculture lipliner, Mac Mountain Air liner and Mac Showstopper eyeshadow quad!

I love the brown tone to Mac Cherish! It would look lush with bronze skin, but it will have to do with pale!

The best lipliner I could find with seemed to be an exact match was "Subculture".

The Showstopper palette had such a soft tone, but the pink "jest" really grabbed my eye!

Looking at all the makeup artists eye makeup at the moment I've seen a lot of green/blue liners under their eyes, so thought I would copy! It has such a nicer shine to it, like a glitter!

Now to cry that I've spent all my vouchers and it's back to my own pennies!

Bank holiday makeup!

It was my birthday on Sunday, so of course I had to get dressed up and go out!

Seeing as I still wasn't sure what I was wearing when I did my makeup I just went for a simple smokey eye. (I ended up wearing black as usual).

I used my TheBalm Nude'tude palette (again I still love it), and my maybelline gel eyeliner.. the one in the glass pot!

I started off with a light brown in the crease for a light smokey colour!

And then added some black into the corner for a darker effect

Next I did a simple flick eyeliner to make it a bit more interesting!

After this is decided the peachy colour I used wasn't showing up as a highlight enough so I went for a more golder colour!

I love the cranberry tones the pallete has! (Very much like my cranberry Mac eyeshadow!)

I know I'm not too good at eyemakeup but give me time :).

I don't think it turned out too bad!
Here is my overall look for Bank Holiday Sunday..

Love a good red lipstick!

The Balm Nude'tude eyeshadow palette

I bought this The Balm eyeshadow palette a week or so ago with my Birchbox points. I'm so glad I did too, its became my favourite for everyday looks! (Haven't used it for night time looks just yet).

I love the vintage style packaging, and love the inside even more. Love a good quirky item!

Here's the inside:
It also comes with a little angled eyeliner brush and a eyeshadow brush!

This is my first actual purchase of The Balm products, and not my last. Tried a few things in the birchbox but none are as nice as this!

Here's some swatches:

Top row-
Bottom row:

All have nice pigments apart from the black "serious".

Eye makeup isn't my forte, but can make a nice day look with "sultry" and "seductive".

All in all I love this, similar colours to the urban decay naked palette too :)

My current daily makeup

Here is my mostly daily make up!

1. Firstly before any makeup I use my Monu Illumiating Primer and SuperDrug 2 in 1 Moisturiser.
My favourite primer since finding it in a birchbox last year!

Before:

2. Next I do a light layer of foundation using Estée Lauder Double Wear in 1N1 to cover all my redness and new spot which appeared on my chin, great.

3. I use a Collection 2000 eyeliner in brown (until I get a hold of dipbrow) and Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Powder Duo in dark brown to do my brows! (I'm aware I look like the walking dead)

4. Next I use the L'Oreal Touché Magnifique and Makeup Academy conceal and brighten kit in porcelain to contour and highlight and cover a few areas. I blend it all in using my RealTechniques expert face brush.

5. Next I do my eyeshadow (I do it before concealer if I am doing dark eyeshadows). But for light everyday eyes I used The Balm Nude'tude palette.
I also do my eyeliner and mascara here too using Maybelline Everlasting Drama liner and Benefit They're Real mascara.

6. Then I move onto the darker contouring of my cheekbones and face shape. (I'll stop looking like a goul soon).
I use Mac Harmony matte blush to contour under my cheekbones and around my hairline on my forehead. Then Mac Dainty mineralize blush on the apples of my cheeks and Mac Soft and Gentle mineralize skinfinish for a bronzed highlight.

7. All done! With some Mac Cremesheen in Mystical lipstick to finish!

First post - L'Oreal Touché Magnifique and Maybelline Brow Drama

So welcome to my first post, I thought I would go with my latest purchases which are the L'Oreal Touché Magnifique concealer and the Maybelline Brow Drama brow tamer. These are two things I've been desperate to try but took ages to get a hold of. I was in desperate need of a brightening under eye concealer and a eyebrow mascara to tame these crazy brows!

L'Oreal Touché Magnifique Concealer

First is the L'Oreal Touché Magnifique concealer. I've always wanted to try the YSL Touché Éclat but never knew if I would use it or not! So this is the next best thing, and a lot more budget friendly obviously. To me this isn't a 'normal' concealer, I'm using it as highlight for my makeup to brighten my under eye and for a slight contour. I don't have bad under eye bags, but I do get dark circles. I could sleep for a year and I'm sure they would still exist!

The application was a lot easier than I thought, I painted it on with the little brush on the end and blended with my RealTechniques Expert Face Brush. I can image after a long time this little brush will build up with bacteria, but if you do use it mostly every day it shouldn't last long enough to cause any breakouts. I chose a really light shade, lighter than my foundation, to brighten my under eyes rather than conceal them.

It blended nicely and didn't dry too quick or cake over my foundation. It also didn't leave any of those pesky streaks and creases that some concealers do. I has a really sheeny type of finish rather than a matte, so it glows over your skin and really masks any dark circles! Win win for me.

Maybelline Brow Drama

I've been trying to find something to keep those stragley bits of eyebrow tame. Not even the gel in my Anastasia Dip Brow keeps my left one going all over, it really has a life of it's own compared to my good right brow.  I even loved this on the first day of using it as my brows didn't budge at all and kept themselves lovely and sleek! I don't have thick enough brows to use this on it's own, but it does what I wanted! It may not be as good as Benefits Gimme Brow but it definitely keeps your eyebrows in place, which is all I wanted it to do!

I obviously still used my Anastasia Beverly Hills dip brow, as I couldn't live without that defining my brows. But you can see how it's kept my brows in line with their shape. Phew..

Hope you liked my first post! Have you tried either of these out before? What did you think?
