Harvey Nichols Glossybox

As soon as I got the pre-release email for this box I was excited and immediately put my name down to get one. This special edition box was from Harvey Nichols who teamed up with Glossybox. I'm not a lover of Glossybox but they always do amazing special boxes every now and then. This had £150 worth of products inside and the majority of them were all big samples! Seeing as I'm no longer a Glossybox subscriber this was £35 pus P&P for me to buy but if you are a subscriber it was £30 plus P&P here.

The Show Working Texture Spray (Full Size)

This was the first thing to grab my attention when the images were released for the box, the lid is so fancy and I just loved it (yes, the lid). My bottle was slightly battered from transport but it will still do the trick! I'm excited to see how this works! This is £30 to buy, which may be a little pricey for some.

NARS Lip Pencil (Sample/1.7g)

I got the colour 'Rikugien' which is perfect for the Kylie Jenner look everyone seems to be raving about at the moment. This is a perfect match for my Mac lipstick in Mehr, which is one of my favourite everyday colours. This is really moisturising and can be used all over the lips as well as a liner, it has a nice natural sheen finish. I would love to get my hands on this in more shades. NARS pencils are £18.00 full size, which is the average for brands like it.

Rodial Bee Venom Moisturiser (Sample/5ml)

To buy this full size (50ml) it is £150! So way out my price zone if I do end up loving this. It is to be used after cleansing and toning and claims to renew your skin.

Macadamia Hair Oil (Sample/10ml)

I love using oils on the ends of my hair before drying as it always make them appear smoother and healthier once dry. Especially after drying and straightening my hair nearly every day, it helps reduce my split ends. This is £21.95 for 125ml, which is very similar to the Moroccan oil price.

Benefit They're Real Mascara (Sample/30ml)

Now you cannot go wrong with an extra Benefit mascara, especially the sample sizes, they're so easy to throw into your handbag. I'm keeping this one aside for my holidays instead of taking my full size mascara, so much easier to fit into a make up travel bag. They're Real mascara is £19.50 for the full size version, which is a little more towards the higher end but well worth it.

OPI (Full Size)

I'm not sure if everyone gets this colour but I got the gorgeous 'Viking In a Vinter Vonderland' which is a dark purple. It will be great addition to my winter colours! OPI's are £12 which is well worth it, they even look nice just sitting in a rack!

Elemis Pro-Colagen Marine Cream (Sample/15ml)

This is a whopping £135 to buy full size (100ml) so I'd say this is a generous sample! Still being in my early 20s I don't feel this will be used to it's full potential on me, but I will give it a go. Especially under my eyes where they could need some tlc.

Dermalogica Overnight Repair Serum (Sample/5ml)

I don't have a night cream yet, though I am looking into finding one I will like. I am going to try using this on it's own and first. Once I find a good night cream I will add a few drops of this into it. This is £57.50 for the full size product.

Laura Mercier Foundation Primer (Sample/30ml)

I've tried a few Laura Mercier products and they're never quite agreed with me, there is always a bit too much glitter in it for me. This is a lot smoother than her other products so I'm willing to try! This will also be a handy size for going away for a break. It is £29 for full size, which isn't the cheapest but I'm sure it will be worth it.

La Coupe Coconut and Macadamia Oil (Sachet)

Aussie hair masks have always been my favourite and I love the feeling masks give your hair afterwards so I'm excited to try this. I hope it leaves my hair smelling of coconuts! This is £3.50 per sachet, which isn't too cheap but the macadamia oil probably adds to the price.

There also should have been a Harvey Nichols mini scented candle, but unfortunately mine broke whilst being delivered (and also battered my Show spray in the process). These are £30 for a set of 4 but seeing as mine was shattered I haven't a clue what mine was (it was white haha).

I loved this box and so glad I managed to grab it (even though I am saving..). I'm really looking forward to trying stuff out. Especially my first NARS lip product! Also the pretty box will come in handy to put some Christmas goodies in for someone.

Holiday Wardrobe Wishlist

Now as you know I'm going to New York in a few weeks time so I need some nice clothes to go with, but I know it is going to be freeezingg so they also need to be warm. I don't want to take too much though as I'll definitely be filling up my case with goodies from there!

Left to Right: Dorothy Perkins Black Chelsea Boot £25.00 (Currently £20.00), Topshop Midnight Denim Leggings £22.00, ASOS Parka £80.00Liquor n Poker Sky Lilac Jeans £40.00New Look Kissmass Pudding Jumper £14.99.

I decided I am just going to buy the every day basics that I can dress up or down depending on the occasion. I was originally going to buy Timberland boots as they would be great for walking in but I would never wear them again, so I opted for the Dorothy Perkins boots. They are incredibly comfortable and team with some thick socks they will keep my tootsies warm.

The ASOS parka is lined completely with fur so it is incredibly warm and has knitted cuffs to keep out the draft. It comes in two colours (Cream and Black), as much as I love the cream one I think the black one will stay cleaner for longer.

I love jeggings as they're so comfy to walk around in but sometimes jeans are a little bit warmer, so I'm going to take one of each. I love these jeans from Liquor n Poker, the colour of them is beautiful so I think they will look lovely for night time.

And of course a cute Christmas jumper had to make an appearance!

What would you take if you were going to New York in December? What did you think of my choices?

November Birchbox

montezumas, lord and berry, beauty protector, dr jart, opi, nail varnish, hair care, conditioner, bronzer, make up, skincare, chocolate, bbloggers, bblogger

As soon as I opened this box I was excited! Everything looked so good and some things were just what I was after but didn't know where to start (there's so much choice). I know beauty boxes can sometimes be hitty missy but when you get a good one it's worth it!

Dr. Jart Tight Effect Toner £18

First was the Dr. Jart Pore Refining Toner which is full size!! I've been on the search for a primer that doesn't irritate my skin and so far so good with this! It doesn't have a scent to it so it is great for my sensitive skin. This also has a handy little spray on it so you can spray it directly onto a cotton pad and swipe across your face. It also doesn't leave a greasy residue, it soaks in straight away (which I'm glad, as I hate grease). I've been using this a week now and even though my skin is still getting used to it I feel my pores have decreased and my make up goes on much smoother! Hope it stays that way.

OPI Turn on the Haute light £11.95

I love OPI nail varnishes, they are (in my opinion) one of the best 'budget' nail varnishes, they're long lasting and come in some beautiful colours. I even love how sturdy the packaging is! In the box I got Turn on the Haute light which is part of the Christmas collection and it's beautiful! I don't often wear varnish on my fingers as I always have gel on them, but this is already on my toes in preparation for the work Christmas party!

Beauty Protector Protect & Treat hair mask £16

I've had quite a few Beauty Protector products and they have such an unusual smell which makes me love them. I also love the pretty pink tinge. I'm yet to use this yet as I just haven't had the time, but if it's anything like their conditioning spray it will leave my hair feeling lovely (and smelling nice too).

Lord & Berry Bronzer - Sienna £19

Now I'm not much of a bronzer person seeing as I'm ghostly white and not sure how much use I will get out of this as it's tiny. I must admit that it is a lovely colour and doesn't have any shimmer in it which is always a bonus. I might get some use of it for contouring, but with it being so tiny it's hard to get an even amount on my brush (sad).

(I know this is pictured in the box but it disappeared for a few days)

Jane Iredale Lash Extender and Conditioner £15
I'm not sure where or how I managed to lose this but I've eventually found it! I haven't yet tried this but it claims to lengthen and strengthen your lashes as well as being a base for your mascara. You put a layer of this on your lashes then a layer of mascara straight after before it dries. I'm going to use this for a week and a bit to see if there is any changes. My lashes are ruined after wearing contact lenses for years and hopefully this will give them some life!

There was also a Montezuma mini bar of chocolate which was yummy and didn't last two seconds after I took the photo (oops).

I recently went to the Trafford Centre and couldn't resist a peek in Selfridges! It's not very often I get anywhere near a shop as good as Selfridges so I rarely see Nars products face to face. I've been after this for well over 6 months now (even though I have heaps of highlighters) but I thought it would match my skin tone quite well.

Though this is more of a higher end brand it is only £22.50 here, which is in a similar price range to Macs highlighters. It also comes in a dainty black packaging which looks lovely, but the only downside is that it is rubbery.. which means make up marks all over!

I wear this above my cheekbones and on the arch of my eyebrow, it creates a soft shine and has quite a transparent colour. Some highlighters have a colour to them which can leave a streak on your face if you're as pale as me but with this being transparent all you can see is the glow.

It was hard to catch the glow in the photo but you can just see the gold type glow under my eye. I try not to put too much on though as it makes my foundation look strange in the afternoon. A little bit goes a long way with this product.

Makeup Revoloution

Everyone has been going on and on about Revolution make up products so I was desperate to get my hands on some. It has taken my local superdrug's ages to stock these, so I am a little late on the bandwagon. I am happy I jumped on it though.. I did stand and stare at the counter for a good 10 minutes before I could even make my mind up which to buy (or contemplated buying them all).

My first purchase was the Iconic 3 palette, with a mixture of mattes, shimmers and pearl shades it's perfect for any neutral look. They do a lot of different colours in this palette but this was the one I thought I would use the most.

I was drawn to this when I first walked up to the stand, I just love gold and pinky eye shadow tones as they are create for a bit of sparkle on neutral looks or on smokey eyes. For this only being £4.00 you cannot complain in the slightest! All of the colours are really pigmented and there is barely any fall out, which usually what happens with cheaper makes.

And next I got the Salvation: Welcome to the Pleasuredome palette, this one is £6.00 but you get a few extra colours/finishes and it comes with a fancy packaging. I was stuck between this one and the Dia De Los Muertos pallete, but thought I would get more use out of this one. (Still tempted to go back for the other).

This palette comes with a mixture of neutral and vibrant colours and also shimmer and matte finishes depending on your look. All of the colours work amazing together, go for all out bright colours or neutral with a pop of colour.

This palette has a mixture of neutral colours and blues, so nice way to start playing with colours on your eyes. The top photo is of all the shimmer colours, which are all really pigmented, especially the blue colours. The bottom photo is of the matte colour which weren't as pigmented but create a lovely base to shade.

What is your favourite from their collection so far?

A Mac Heirloom Lipstick

I love the sparkly lipsticks that Mac bring out around Christmas and I've always wanted to get one, I did initially want to ask for a few for Christmas.. but once I saw they had brought Rebel out in the packaging I grabbed it. Rebel is a lipstick shade I have been after for a while now but never had the chance to get it.

Rebel is a pinky purple colour even though it looks more a dark purple in the packaging. With it being a Satin finish it doesn't have as much longevity as mattes do but it's a great finish to have for Autumn. I find matte finishes to be too drying on lips for frequent wear in Autumn.

Depending on the occasion I will wear this with different liners, for a day time look I will wear it with Mac Dervish liner and at night time I would go with more of a ombre effect with Mac Nightmoth liner.

Have you got anything from the Heirloom collection yet? Or is there anything you have your eye on so far?

Christmas wishlist.. so far

I love Christmas, and it gets me right into the festive mood when I sit down and make a list of what I want. I feel like a child sitting circling the Argos catalogue again. Like every year it is primarily make up which my parents and boyfriend  go mad at, as they think it's a waste (no chance). There is a lot of Christmas specials out this year that are making me super excited!

I always love the Mac holiday collections as they're always in beautiful packaging which brings out my inner make up hoarder. Being a sucker for a red lip this bag just looks perfect, and I've been drooling over Ruby Woo for over a year. This is £32.00, which is a bargain really for everything that you get!

I think I'm seeing a pattern here? I promise I do come off the Mac website eventually! But I love the Viva Glam lipsticks, even more so that the full sale of this bag goes direct to the Mac HIV charity (fab). This is £29.00 and comes in a beautiful red sparkly make up bag.

I'm after the colour Belissima which is a chocolatey brown colour and a sheeny white, which would make a beautiful smokey eye for everyday. I know they have loads of lovely colours to choose from but I thought I would get the most use out of this. This is £25.00 and would also be my first Nars eyeshadow!

I do love the Dolce Vita palette every has been getting lately, but this one also caught my eye. Mainly cause of the bottom left colour which would make an amazing colour on your eyelid. This is £38.00, so not exactly cheap but would be an amazing addition.

I'm yet to try a Benefit blusher but I've always been in awe by the packaging so this would be the perfect opportunity (right?). Porefessional and BadGal lash are two of my favourite Benefit products. This is the perfect gift for any make up lover! And for £44.50 it is amazing.

bblogger, beauty blog, make up, christmas make up set, make up set, christmas, bobbi brown, mac, illamasqua, nars, haul, blog, beauty
I've been meaning to try these for a while as they're meant to be amazing for a slick of colour on your eyes. These are also 3 great colours to make a nice smokey eye or seperatly for just a hint. Even though these are only mini's for only £29.50 they are a great way to try them out.

I'm sure I could go on forever but seeing as I'm going to New York in just over a month I shouldn't be after too much make up! What is on your wishlist this Christmas? There is some amazing Christmas stuff out at the moment!

Black and Gold eyeliner

maybelline, make up, mua, bbloggers, beauty, blog, skincare, vegas nay,

I have the plain black version of this eyeliner and I love it. It's so easy to do any look as it's so creamy and easy to apply. I love using gel eye liner to finish off a look, it makes it look less plain and gives it a bit more edge. I always feel naked when I don't wear liner on my lazy days. I've tried quite a few different makes of gel liner and I always revert back to Maybelline, all the other ones just don't have the smooth consistency as this product. It has a long wear time but last a lot longer when worn with a eye primer.

To apply this I use my Mac 209 eye liner brush, I damped the brush a little before dipping it into the product. (Not sure why but it makes the lines so much smoother). I find the brush that comes with the pot is too small and fiddley to use and I've always used my 209 brush since getting it, it's so precise.

make up, mua, bbloggers, beauty, blog, skincare, vegas nay,

You can see all pretty little gold speckles in the eyeliner which is what made me buy it (yes, made me). It's not over powering gold speckles, it's still lovely and sleek just with the hint of gold in it.

The only downside of the liners is that after a while they dry up and aren't as easy to use, no matter how quick you fasten the lid after finishing. So I would say it's best to replace them after a few months, which is probably best for eye products any way.

Here's what it looks like below:

I promise there is really speckles in the liner but I've tried to catch it in the photo and it's impossible!
