Mac is always a good cheer up!
It really doesn’t take me much to go into Mac and spend my money, and seeing as I couldn’t find what I was after while I was shopping the other day I decided to spend money there instead (at least I could find something to spend my money on..). There is actually nothing that cheers me up than buying myself a Mac lipstick… sad yes, but cheered me up… also yes. I have a heap of lipsticks but I like to have the variation and know I have a colour for everything! I’m sure if I was any good at eye make up I would buy more eyeshadow.. but I can’t.
I have been after Groundwork from Mac for god knows how long and I’ve never bit the bullet and got it until now (why did it take so long). I already have the Let’s Skate paint pot which I absolutely love but it is a little too glittery for every day use, but they create a great base for eyeshadow. Groundwork being a beautiful neutral colour it is a great base for a natural eyes to smokey eyes, and even looks nice just on its own. I need to grab some more paint pots too, they last all day without creating creases in my shadow!
I did initially go to buy Mocha lipstick but seeing as it wasn’t in stock the nice Mac girl offered me Taupe as a alternative. I do actually love it as well so I am glad I got this one (I’m coming back for Mocha though..). Taupe is a reddish brown colour so it fits in well with the Kylie Jenner lip craze which is still going on. It can literally turn a boring natural look into something a little bit more, it just makes my lips feel like the stand out and they also don’t feel like the weeny size the actually are (perk).
I was also recommended getting the Brunette to use as a liner rather than an actual Mac liner, and judging by the Mac girls make up I was fine to take any advice she gave me anyway. I actually love the effect it gives my lips, it makes them appear fuller without the liner being noticeable. With it being quite a neutral colour it blends in really well and keeps my lipstick in tact just a long as a normal lip liner offers.
And here is what they all look like on! 🙂
Whats your latest Mac purchase? Or have you not tried anything Mac yet?
