Mini Burberry Kiss Lipsticks

I think I got a tad excited when the Burberry kiss samples came out as I made my boyfriend sign up and get me one off his Twitter too... The pink one isn't mine though but I did steal it for a swatch! (Shame no one had the fourth to swatch that too). I do think this is one of the best advertising I have seen a brand do yet, nearly everyone on my twitter was getting one! What is a better way to try a product then getting a mini version to try it out first?

I got the colours Military Red and Sepia, and also the Nude Pink. The first two are literally my favourite tones of lipsticks to wear so I knew if I was going to get any it had to be those. Military Red is so bright! So excited to be able to wear it on a night out, whereas Sepia is my satin version of Mac Mehr. They are all so creamy and pigmented, which you obviously expect from a high end brand anyway. But I did love the satin type finish to these, it mades them so wearable for any occasion. They don't last too long when wearing them due to the finish but a good 2-3 hours is enough to make me happy! Nude Pink is too light for my complexion but it does look lovely, I would imagine it would be nice teamed with a blended pink liner!

These lipsticks are £25 and come in a range of finishes and colours, but the Burberry Kisses are all a satin finish. The packaging itself justifies the price alone to me, and I'm really looking forward to trying more of the range. I especially want the try Bright Plum as I love nothing more than a purple lipstick and it just looks lovely (this will have to wait until after my spending ban).

Did you manage to get a Burberry Kiss tester? Or did you buy the full price product? I know I'm going to haha. Now to return the Nude Pink to David's mam :(.

Royally Good

Birchbox 'Royally Good' box
Birchbox 'Royally Good' box
Birchbox 'Royally Good' box

I decided not to post about my Birchbox last month as I wasn't overly excited about anything in it, I was actually pretty disappointed! So I was hoping this months was going to make up for it, and I think it did. If you read my blog you will probably know I hate moisturiser, and loathe even more receiving them in my beauty boxes..but I guess I have to accept they creep their way in each month :(. But the other things in the box totally made up for it this month, I am so much happier receiving cosmetics!

So this month you could choose between a Laura Mercier Primer, Mascara or a Eyeliner. I chose the eyeliner as I've tried the primer and mascara already, so I wanted something new! I also like the blue colour, I'm glad I didn't get a black one as I have 1000. I also got a nice nude Lola nail varnish, I'm giving my nails a break from gels at the moment so I will get good use of this!

In this months box there was:
Laura Mercier Eye Pencil £16.50 - I got Black Violet which is a nice dark purple colour. I'm right into neutral eye shadows at the moment, so this is a nice subtle liner to add some colour with. It was also pretty creamy, which I didn't quite expect from some other reviews. It doesn't have the most amazing colour pay off, but I will get good use of it!

Lola Barcelona £7.50 - I got the colour Born (which I think everyone did?), it's a shimmery nude colour. It's not just a plain nude though it has a hint of colour running through it when the light hits it. It is nice and opaque after two coats too, I'm not much of a nail varnish guru though so I can't say whether it is amazing or not. I much prefer my gel nails!

Percy & Reed Smooth, Sealed & Sensational Oil £14 - I don't use hair oils that often, but I do use them every now and then.. I don't think they do that much? This product is supposed to tame your hair by smoothing into the ends of your hair, I will probably use this mostly after drying my hair every so often.

Bliss Foaming Face Wash £19.50 - I was excited to see this one, I've heard a lot about foaming cleansers (to use with my Magnitone) but I didn't really know where to even start to buy one. So here's my start to trying one out! You can just massage this into your face and rinse off but I'll be rubbing it in and using my Magnitone then washing it off!

Korres Pear Body Milk £10 - I do like Korres products as they don't irritate my sensitive skin, and all their products are natural and my skin agrees with natural things better. I am soooo forgetful when it comes to moisturisers though so they are mostly wasted on me, but I will eventually get around to using it. But it does smell lovely on the upside!!

Befine Warming Clay Mask £17 - I was excited to see this one too! I'm progressively running low on my Glamgow mask so I'm using alternatives in between to make it last a bit longer. The pomegranates are what enticed me the most! I am intrigued to use this though and see what the 'warming' is all about!

Did you get a Birchbox this month? What did you think?

Airbrush effect

I swear by the Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation so I've been swatching all the latest releases in high street brands to see if there is any new ones I can try out. I also find with cheaper foundations that the shades don't match the colours the state, like Ivory is either glowing white or bright orange, then they always seem to get more orange from there. So me being pale I struggle to find one that matches my skin well, Vanilla seems to be the colour I need in high street brands but very few do pale shades other than Ivory.

So after wandering aimlessly around Superdrug this +Revlon Professional Italia  foundation caught my eye which is the Photoready Airbrush Effect foundation which is currently £9.99 rather than £12.99 at Superdrug. I've always wanted to try the Revlon foundations but they have never done a colour which matches my skin before so I've never bothered to get one until now.

I love medium-full coverage foundations, or at least a foundation which is build-able without going cakey. This foundation is a medium coverage foundation which I do think is quite build-able but to an extent. You definitely couldn't put more than two layers of this on if you ever wanted to anyway as it has quite a thick consistency. It does blend really well using my beauty blender too and blends to such a flawless finish, I was really surprised with it. It does seem to have light glitter particles in it which must be what creates the flawless finish, but it isn't glittery to the point you look like Edward Cullen. It's lasted me all day with a touch up at dinner time, and that is with it being crazily warm in the office lately, so I'm impressed! I don't think this will replace my every day foundation but if you're wanting that extra finish for the day I will definitely turn to this without a doubt!

Here is what it's like on:

I just wish Revlon would bring out this shade in their other foundations so I could try more of their range!

Prairie Charms

Prairie Charms order
Prairie Charms necklace

I saw Prairie Charms goodies pop up on a few other bloggers blogs and loved their bright chunky necklaces. There is nothing I love more than a chunky rope necklace, I still hoard a Topshop one from about 3 years ago. I decided to buy the Ava Rope necklace as I love the bright red colour running through it, and thought it would look lovely against my excessive black clothing (colour?!).

I also got some freebies included in my order which was the cute Veronica Cotton bow and some Hair Knot ties. These were such a sweet little thought in with my order and really appreciate it! I have suuuuch thick hair though so I'm not going to ruin these ties putting them in my hair, so I'm just going to wear them on my wrist and pretend haha.

I do love the Charlotte Rope necklace though, so that is definitely on my next wishlist! The orange and lilac are the perfect Spring/Summer colours for me.

Prime time..

For a long time I could never really make my mind up about Benefit primer and whether I liked it or not, so I stuck with my trusty Monu primer and Embroylisse moisturiser. I had about 3 Porefessional primer testers kicking about in my make up draws so I thought I would eventually start using them properly and see how they went.

I love how the primer doesn't feel oily and goes on slightly like a dry moose, it creates a layer over my pores and nearly makes them invisible! It creates such a smooth base to put my foundation over. I always have trouble with my foundation parting all over my oily areas and it's always drove me up the wall, but I think this primer has made such a difference. My foundation seems to last a good 9+ hours without desperately needing some form of powder touch up, and I actually currently like it better than my Monu powder.

The primer does have a slight tint to it, so I am unsure on how it will look on darker skin tones but it doesn't leave an orange tinge like I very first thought it would. After I used all my testers I thought I would go buy a large one to replace it and I'm glad I did as it was on offer with the Triple Performing moisturiser in the 'It's About Prime' set for £24.50, which is the same price as the primer alone.

I've tried a few of the Benefit moisturisers and I have loved them, and loved them even more for the beautiful packaging they come in. So I was excited to get the chance to try this and see how it worked. Benefit moisturisers do have a slight scent to them, so if you have crazily sensitive skin they aren't for you, but I have slightly sensitive skin and they're perfect for me. I've been using this around 2 weeks now and it hasn't caused me to break out and also creates a great base before applying the primer. Any moisturiser that doesn't make me break out is a thumbs up in my book.

If you want to try these the little set is a great way to start, especially seeing as you get a full size Porefessional in it too. What is your favourite primer?

Marc Jacobs Liptick in All The Way

I've never tried any of the Marc Jacobs range before and seeing as they're only just making their way to the UK they're still quite new to me. I do absolutely love the brand though so I expected to love this. I got this from Cohorted as I've never found a place to actually buy Marc Jacobs from yet, and seeing it was discounted to £14 I couldn't resist!

This is the Marc Jacobs Lip Gel in All The Way, which is a orange toned red. It is quite a sheer product but it can be built up to be a more opaque colour, even more so with a liner too. Obviously with it being a gel it's really glossy, but I love it and think it is perfect for Spring.

I absolutely love any lip product that is a shade of red, so when +Cohorted Social Shopping emailed me their newsletter with this in it instantly made me want it. Downside of all the newsletter emails I get I suppose.. But I'm a total sucker for lipsticks so it doesn't take much to convince me really.

There is 17 shades available all together which range from nudes, pinks, reds and purples. I really want to get my hands on Little Pretty which is a deep vibrant purple colour, please sell it nearby soon :(!

the fragrance shop, perfume, givenchy, dolce and gabana, versace, hugo boss, samples, discovery box

This is one of my favourite subscription boxes I have going at the moment, mostly because I never get the chance to go into a perfume shop and test out any new perfumes. The Discovery Club is a quarterly box for each season from the Fragrance Shop, you receive different samples depending on the season and some are new ones too. So as well as discovering new/current perfumes you also get little handy spray bottles to throw into your handbag too.

In the Spring box there was:
Hugo Boss Woman £34.50 30ml - Fruity, floral fragrance - I have owned this before then could never find it to repurchase it, so now I have a handy voucher too when I go and replace it. This is one of the first perfumes my other half bought me and it has always stuck with me as a favourite.
Givenchy Very Irresistible £38.00 30ml - Floral - I do like this perfume and it has a beautiful scent for spring and summer but I've never actually bought it before. I do think it is a little too floral and girly for me.
Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire Couture £41.50 30ml - Sweet - I do love this, though I have never smelt the original so I don't know how it compares.
Versace Eros £49.50 30ml - Fresh & Floral - I love this for a day time fragrance, it's so fresh and light and isn't over powering.
Dolce & Gabbana Floral Drops £46.50 30ml -  Floral - This is my favourite of the bunch and I am definitely purchasing this, it reminds me slightly of the Marc Jacobs fragrances. It has such a sweet flowery smell!
Stella McCartney Stella £43.50 30ml - Floral - I love the sweet and fruity smell to this, it has such a familiar smell too. I've never smelt a Stella fragrance before either!
Versace Eros (Male) £29.00 30ml - Fresh - This is a little stronger than my taste but I do think it is nice. It is a little too musky for me though (not for me me, but to buy for someone!).

You also receive a £5 off voucher for each of the perfume samples, which is great when you like one of them and want to get it. They are also valid until the end of May so there is plenty of time to buy some too! Not that I need any more encouraging!

Easter break

I've quite enjoyed my long weekend of doing basically nothing, eating chocolate and having Lush baths with bath bombs.. I'm quite sad to be going back to reality tomorrow! So I thought I would share my little weekend with everyone. For Easter I got 3 bath bombs as well as an easter egg rather than getting anything else, I've been dying to try more of the bath bomb range since I tried my first one a few weeks ago (here). So this time round I got Rose Jam, Yuzo & Cocoa and Honey Bee, but I'm going to do a post on them another time so I'll just tease with photos.

The Running Fox, Rainbow cake, The Pudding Parlour, Lush Cosmetics
Top - Jalou cocktails, Longhorns BBQ Smokehouse, Lush Easter presents, The Running Rox afternoon tea and The Pudding Parlour rainbow cake.

I have basically spent my entire weekend eating really though, which is coming across as pretty obvious from these photos.. (oops). And I am now sitting in a food coma after eating my weight in afternoon tea. But isn't that what Easter is for...

What did you do for Easter this year?

lush, body shop, bathbomb, body spray, lip scrub, body butter, skin care, bbloggers

Now this is new to me! I've never actually really bought much from The Bodyshop before even though I do love their stuff I've always just stuck to Lush products. All I've been hearing recently in the blog world is how amazing their body butters are and a lot more too so I thought I would eventually give it a go. I quite often buy their gift sets for others at birthdays/Christmas etc but never really bought anything for myself yet!

lush, body shop, bathbomb, body spray, lip scrub, body butter, skin care, bbloggers

So in the Bodyshop part of my mini haul I bought the Coconut body butter and the Mango body mist. I stood and tried all the different scents and these are the two I just had to keep going back for! There was even 3 for 2 on certain products but I couldn't not buy these so I missed out on the offer (these weren't included, typical!).

I really need to start moisturising and taking care of my skin, it's something I always seem to struggle with for some reason. My lazyitis kicks in after I've been in the shower and I just want to get to bed asap, so I'm slowly introducing it into my schedule...

lush, body shop, bathbomb, body spray, lip scrub, body butter, skin care, bbloggers
lush, body shop, bathbomb, body spray, lip scrub, body butter, skin care, bbloggers

This is also my first bathbomb from Lush.. oops. And I really don't know why?! This one is Rose Bombshell so it obviously smells like roses, it also claims to get rid of any redness! It's amazing, it was the most relaxing bath I've had in aaages. It had a beautiful floral smell and some petals floating round which just topped it off to a T. I really can't wait to get some more of these! I have stupid sensitive skin too so I was a little weary it would play havoc but it didn't effect my skin at all, so if you have sensitive skin like I do this one is suitable!

My bubblegum lip scrub also recently ran out so I needed to pop to Lush and get a replacement, I opted for the popcorn flavour this time as it's the only one I haven't tried so far. It really does taste like popcorn too, it's so realistic. The only downside to this is that I think it is really salty, it's all I can taste on my lips after using it but I do still love it overall and does exactly what I want it to.

Have you tried any of the above products? And what are your favourites?

Studded Kiss

kat von d, make up, lipstick, studded kiss, mua, bbloggers

I've loved everything Kat Von D since I was probably around 14 so when she released her make up line I've always wanted to get my hands on at least 1 item. I've seen the Studded Kiss lipsticks pop up a lot among bloggers in the US but it isn't so easy to pick up in the UK, so this is another thing I picked up in New York.

I decided on the shade Thin Lizzy as it was one of the shades that stood out the most to me, there was heaps of other shades I loved too but I was sensible and only bought 1! It is sparkling brick red colour with a copper glitter to it. The glitter isn't as 'out there' a I thought it was going to be, it just had a nice subtle gleam to it, which is quite similar to a Mac lipstick I got last year (review here). With a lip liner this lipstick lasts around 6 hours with a little touch up here and there, it also leaves a nice stain on the lips after it wears off which is nice. The formula is also really smooth and isn't drying on the lips at all, I sometimes find lipsticks with glitter of some form in quite drying so I was pleasantly surprised!

kat von d, make up, lipstick, studded kiss, mua, bbloggers

The lipsticks are all $21 each, which if you convert to pounds works out around the same price as a Mac lipstick. But with them being so inaccessible in the UK you have to buy them from the US which costs a bomb or buy them from eBay. So I think my next purchase will have to wait until the next time I'm in the US :(.

There is heaps I want to try from Kat Von D's range at the moment, I just wish I could get them easier. The things I am so looking forward to getting (hopefully soon are):

Have you tried any of the Kat Von D range yet? Or is there anything currently on your wish list?
