Check trousers

Primark check trousers
Primark check trousers

This is totally out of my comfort zone, but I have always wanted to share a fashion-based post but never really thought I was fashionable! But I recently bought these trousers on a whim after seeing Charlotte Harv posts wearing them, I don't really think I've ever got away with wearing them but I couldn't resist.

Uni has been a nightmare on my bank account, I can't help but pop into the shops on the way back home which is where these came in. They were only £9.00 from Primark, so an absolute bargain and good for me as I didn't want to splash out on a pair and possible not like them. I've bought trousers before and loved them, put them in a drawer and never wore them. I've really struggled to get myself out of a legging/jeggings rut, they're just so comfortable!

I love these though, and I am so relieved they aren't see-through as that was my biggest fear with them being cheap. They are a little baggy but with some small heels they are going to be perfect for work! They will also be nice a cool for a warm day and a nice vest!

The Art House, Alnwick

Dirty potato skins
The hangover burger

Now I love food, so when any opportunity arises I will jump at arranging to go somewhere! So seeing as it was my birthday on Monday me and the family arranged to go to The Art House in Alnwick which isn't too far away from me. I've been before and loved the rustic look to the place and really enjoyed the food, and seeing as they had a new menu I wanted to try it out. I did originally go to try the new 'Meat Combos' but I couldn't resist some of the burgers (but I'm going back for it). This is all I really got up to for my birthday but I will do a post of some of my goodies later on, I need to give them all a go first!

Highlighters ft. a fan brush

There is nothing I don't think finishes off my make up look without a highlight of some sort, so when I find a new release which grabs my attention I can't help to try them. But I always seem to stick with my trusty powder highlighters, I just find them so much easier to work with as I've never got the hang of liquid highlighters.

Closed: My blog has turned ONE!

I'm so glad to have stuck to blogging, even though at the start I found it super hard and a little daunting. I've really enjoyed writing everything so far, and loved even more everyones positivity and nice comments! Also thank you to everyone who followed me from the very start as I really appreciate it :-). And to show my appreciation I thought I would do a giveaway of my very favourite Mac lipstick to celebrate, I mention it loads through my blog and it's always on my Instagram so it's only fitting really!

Beauty Must Haves

There is some things I don't think I could bare to not have in my make up stash, and are something I literally always go back to no matter how many others I try. There is a few I have actually got so used to using I've actually forgot how to not use them anymore..! Some things are quite newbies and some things I've been using for over a year.

Beauty Blender
(image-beauty bay)
The Beauty Blender is my all time favourite thing to apply my foundation with, when I try to use a foundation brush again it looks terrible. I've just got used to how simple this little thing is and how quick it is to get a flawless base. I use mine damp and dab all my foundation around my face until I have the coverage I want. I don't think my make up would be the same if I didn't use it! For £16 it isn't the cheapest sponge around, but it's the one that seems to last the longest for me (4+ months) and work the best too.

LASplash Cosmetics lipstick

Seeing as I'm an Instagram junkie I definitely got drawn into everyone posting about the new LASplash Cosmetics brand. They came out of no where and all of a sudden everyone seemed to have one of their lipsticks and I didn't, so I couldn't be left out... It is an American brand, so the items do have to come from the US so it does take a lot longer than I would usually want to wait. But seeing as I had seen such good things about them I desperately wanted them.

#FenwickBeautyWeek

cakes at Fenwicks

So on Tuesday I went to a taster for Fenwick Beauty Week which starts this week (Monday 11th - Saturday 16th May), I'm hoping to pop by as all of this has made me excited to try out new brands. (I was also told about Jennifer Aniston's new hair care range thats available..so need to look at that). I very rarely venture into town as it's quite a trek for me but it was so nice to look around, I never realised how much make up was in there!!

appointment cards with brands
treatment vouchers

There was a table full of appointment cards for brands like Clinique, Molton Brown, Estee Lauder, Armani, Tom Ford, Benefit, Dior, Laura Mercier, Chanel and more. I chose Clinique and Estee Lauder, as at first I was adamant they weren't removing my make up and my skin is horrendous this week! Now I slightly regret letting my nerves take over as the Laura Mercier make overs looked amazing!

Fentimans Rose Lemonade
prosecco with passion fruit balls
YSL make up counter
Clinique lipsticks

I had a Estee Lauder foundation make over using the light Double Wear, as I already have the medium Double Wear, and wanted to try it out for day time. I have a sample of this and going to see how it goes! I also had my eyes and lips done my Clinique, I wasn't too impressed but I do love the lipstick range.

All the bloggers also got a huge goodie bag full of testers to try out:
Fenwick bag
Testers
Benefit testers
Molton Brown testers
Thierry Mulger testers
Clarins testers
Mini J'Adore perfume
Bare Minerals foundation tester

There is so many things to try out, and really excited to try out the Clarins skincare range as I've never had the chance to before! I also have heaaaps of perfume samples to sift through, where do I start with those?!

Fenwicks really do host an amazing event, and would definitely return if they are doing any more in the future (if I'm invited haha). If you are nearby I would pop into #FenwicksBeautyWeek and check out all the make overs available and classes (and good offers available)!

Who doesn't love purple?

There is nothing I love more than purple lipsticks, as soon as I see one I have to buy it. So when I saw Mac release a 'Love Purple' collection I had to grab this, there was also another colour called Pervette but I think it was a little too light for me so I missed it out.

I chose the colour Violetta £15.50, which is a bright violet colour in Amplified. Even just looking at it makes me glad I bought it as the colour is just so vibrant! Amplified lipsticks have a nice creamy consistency so they don't dry out your lips when you're wearing them like the matte lipsticks do. If you want a lipliner to wear with this lipstick then Mac Fashion Boost is a perfect match for it, and it also looks amazing used on its own.

So diving into my second bunch of Lush bathbombs (Or bubbleroons too in this case), I don't know why I waited and put off ever buying these before. I am glad I got around to buying some eventually! These ones are what I got for Easter (I didn't get any of the fancy carrots or bunnies waa), but I got the ones I know won't make me itch.

The bathbomb I got was Honey Bee, I was told anything with honey in from Lush will be good for anyone with sensitive skin so I got it. It also smells delicious too so that was another selling point for me. I also had this in my room for about a week in it's packaging and debating not using it at all as my room smelt so nice. I'm debating replacing candles with random bathbombs..

The two bubbleroons I got were Yuzu & Cocoa and Rose Jam. I got the Yuzu & Cocoa one as it's filled with coconut and shea butter so I could only imagine my skin would be silky smooth after using it and I could dodge moisturising. It again smells lush so another good choice up there. I got the Rose Jam one and the first one I tried (here) smelt so beautiful, it was like having a bunch of roses in the bath with me. So I couldn't resist not smelling that scent again, it does also make your skin super soft too though.

Now to finish my new found love off for Lush bath products, I really want to try Melomint. But why is it never in stock?! :(!

Whats your favourite product from Lush? Anything you would recommend?

Budget beauty

As much as I do love high end beauty products, I also do love some budget beauty brands. I know some don't live up to the expectations but here is some that have for me!

make up revolution vivid baked highlighter

make up academy matte lipstick

make up academy lip liners

First off I got the Make Up Revolution Vivid Baked Highlighter in Pink Lights, I have been loving everything lilac at the moment so as soon as this caught my eye I knew I needed it. Even just in the box it looks amazing, and the lilac colour stands out so much. This reminds me of NARS Sex Fantasy blush, but obviously a shimmer version, there is just something about the colour I love.

I saw my friend wearing this lipstick a few fews ago and immediately loved it, it reminds me of Mac Up the Amp but a matte finish. I think I was in 3 Superdrug stores before I found one it was actually in stock in! I've tried the other Make Up Academy lipsticks and never really liked the formula, but the matte formula is so much better! And for only £1 I can't really complain at all. The shade I got was Lilac Belle, which is exactly what it says in the name really it's a lovely shade of light purple. It was a lot more pigmented than what I expected too!

I also grabbed two liners, though there was no purple shade to match my new lipstick I got the two I would get the most use out of. I got Brooding Plum and Caramel Nougat, I'm still on the look for the perfect brown toned liner to match my Taupe lipstick. I have heaps of red lipsticks so I knew the Brooding Plum would match one of them! The liners are really creamy and go on really well, they are also really pigmented. Usually some cheaper liner brands have barely any colour and quite rough so was really impressed with this!

Have you tried any of these products before? Or is there any you are wanting to try?
