Can I firstly mention that I enjoyed colouring in the box probably more than I should of at the age of nearly 22..
I did actually love this months box, all my Birchbox wishes came true and they actually sent loads of make up! woooo! Even though this is my favourite subscription box, I really wish you could chose what comes in your box as I never use the moisturisers. But this month there was a few make up products and I was really excited about them!
In this months box there was:
Mirenesse Mattfinity Lip Rouge in Sydney £21 – This is the first I’ve heard of this brand before, but anything matte lip is up my alley. Sydney is a bright pink colour in liquid lipstick form which dries to a matte finish. I’m loving liquid lipsticks at the moment after buying the LaSplash Cosmetics lipsticks, so excited to trial this one out. It is really pigmented and only needs one coat, which you need to allow to dry before doing anything else. I am a little jealous I didn’t get the shade Paris though, such a beaut shade of purple *cry face*.
Wah London Press On Nails £9 – I got the ‘The Pink Brush’ press on nails, which is what I chose in my email from Birchbox. Seeing as I mostly wear gel nails I didn’t think a nail art pen or varnish would get very much use from me. I love the pattern on these though, now can someone teach me how to do actual nail art to recreate it?! Seeing as these don’t glue on, they haven’t exactly got the longest wearing ability.. but they look amazing. And if you really wanted them stuck on I don’t see why not purchase some nail glue to fasten them on for dear life with.
Parlor by Jeff Chastain Sea Salt Spray £17 – I need someone to teach me how to use this to the best of it’s ability, cause realistically I haven’t a clue how to use it. I’ve bought the Toni & Guy one in the past and didn’t understand how to make it work! So I need to give this a trial run for a few weeks before I can decide on it! But one thing I do know is that it doesn’t dry your hair out which I found the T&G one did, last thing you want is dry straw-like hair!
Whish Body Butter in Almond £14.50 – I have the Lavender scent version of this and I love it, it doesn’t have an overpowering scent that makes me skin sting. So if you have sensitive skin this doesn’t cause any harm, and they smell absolutely delicious! (Buy the lavender one though as that’s my favourite), not that I don’t like the smell of this as I do, but I prefer more floral scents.
Jelly Pong Pong Sun Bronzer Duo in Martinique £15.95 – I did at first think this was a eyeshadow duo due to it’s dinky size, but it turns out it is a blush and bronzer! The bronzer is a lovely shade though, and will be a great shade to contour with. The blush has a lot of shimmer in it so a little of it will go a long way. I do think this needs to double in size though, as the size is a little too fiddly for me, I like to be able to buff my brush in my bronzers and get a good coverage! But this is really handy to have in my handbag make up bag.
Number 4 Reconstructing Masque £36 – Now for £36 I would have expected more than a tiny sachet to try it out, as the sachet wasn’t really enough to cover my thick hair so I only managed to cover the ends. From the little tester I wouldn’t buy this as I can’t really make my mind up if I like it or not. I also did think it was a face mask at first.. the French instructions didn’t help much either, but luckily I read the Birchbox booklet before lathering my face in it!!
And there was also colouring pencils to satisfy my inner 3 year old, but I’m obviously not going to review them haha.
I really loved this box, and I am really excited to give all it’s contents a go and use them up. Which I can say is probably a first in a while for me for a Birchbox!
Did you get a box this month, what did you think of it?
