Blush Sticks

Blush sticks are completely new to me, I've bought a few in the past and really didn't understand how to apply them without looking like I had army stripes on. I watched one of Shaaanxo's videos on Youtube and she showed how to apply them with a brush and I've liked them ever since! Using a brush to get the product from the tube to then buff onto your face doesn't effect your foundation underneath, which was always my most hated thing about stick blushes.

These two are my new contouring combo, I just wish I had a really light highlight one to finish it off to a trio. But until I find that one, these two will do half the job! I use the Matte Malibu (which is a dupe for Nars) under my cheekbones, under my chin and around my hair line and it lasts nearly all day. If I'm going somewhere I won't get a chance to reapply my bronzer I always use this as it doesn't wear off like powder does. I also apply the pink blush to the apples of my cheeks, it isn't as bright of a pink as it looks in the tube. It is a lot more subtle, which is up my street as I don't like illuminous pink blush!

New Balance

white jeans outfit
new balance trainers

I've been after a pair of comfortable every day type trainers for a while, and could never quite decide what sort I wanted. I wanted some nice comfortable ones, but also some bright coloured ones. When I originally saw these on JD Sports but after multiple orders they never actually turned up, so I ended up getting them from Soletrader.

I immediately fell in love with the colour of these, so I was desperate for them! They do loads of other beaut colours in their range but I still couldn't get past these ones (though I do love the bright pink ones too).

P.s sorry about my awkward posing, haven't got to grips with it yet. Also cropped out my thumb face :-)

June Birchbox

I do love getting Birchbox's as I love the surprise each month, I also love trying out the new products which I probably wouldn't get around to otherwise. I just wishhhhh there was a 'genre' to choose from so you could get what you wanted more. I mean sometimes I do enjoy the surprise, but sometimes not so much..

This month there was:

Premae Mild Microdermabrasion £25.00 - This is a vegan body/facial scrub to use on any skin that needs some tlc, blemishes and to clear pores. I do love microdermabrasion scrubs (love the Dr.Brant one but it's sooo pricey), so I was happy to see a more budget one. This also doesn't have a strong scent like the Dr.Brant ones, so is a lot better for sensitive skin, just best to use in moderation as you don't want to strip away the good stuff.

Cynthia Rowley Creamy lip stain £14.00 - This is a creamy lipgloss which claims to leave a stain to your lips after it wears off. For me, I don't really like lip stains, I like it to look like I have lipstick on as thats the look I like to go for. It is a pretty colour though, I like the orange/red tone. I did get some compliments on it though when I wore it, just wish it was more matte.

Penhaligon's Iris perfume £85.00 - I just saw the £85 and winced a little, I don't think I could justify the price of it at all especially when I've never heard tale of the brand before. It is quite a citrus scent, but not so much like you smell a fruit basket. It is pretty nice and good for summer, but I do think there are nicer and cheaper alternatives.

HIP Ultra Brilliance shampoo £15.00 - This is a brand I've never heard of, but I like the weird little packaging anyway. This is supposed to give your hair the boost it needs with a mix of peppermint and eucalyptus, so it does smell a little minty. But it's a nice smell! And a nice shampoo, it doesn't leave any residue in my hair either.

Cowshed Knackered Cow body lotion £18.00 -  I loved this instantly just because of it's name.. I'm always a knackered cow, so how fitting! (is there a grumpy one?). I got a lavender one, which I'm pretty happy about as it's one of my favourite smells. I'm going to use this at night as lavender is good to help you sleep, smells delicious.

STY London Metalic Tattoos £7.99 - I love temporary tattoos, I currently have a heap to use up.. I just need to actually go out to use them ha! I got some plain ones which are mostly bracelet shape which I get the most use of so pretty happy with, though they are pretty short so hope they wrap fully around my wrist!

I am pretty excited to use the body lotion and tattoo's though, I am actually out a few times this month (for once) so may actually get some use of these eventually!

Beauty Blenders

Beauty Blender
Beauty Blenders

I love Beauty Blenders, I think I've used them around 2 years now and don't think I could go back to doing my foundation with a brush now! I always save up my Birchbox points to buy my Beauty Blenders as they're not exactly the cheapest sponge on the market, but out of all the ones I've tried they're my favourite. The real ones last longer and are easier to clean!

I've also been really curious of the new mini blenders, I meant to grab one when I was in New York but the Sephora I went into was sold out of them! :(. Instead I got one from Born Pretty* for £1.10, which is the cheapest mini blender I've seen about. I always try the dupe sponges before I splash out on the real ones as I like to make sure I'll actually use it!

Makeup Academy Spring palette

Make Up Academy pallete
Make Up Academy pallete
Make Up Academy pallete

I must admit I have slightly neglected Make Up Academy products until recently, I loved them but then they went quiet and didn't release anything for a while. So when I popped into Superdrug a week or so ago I saw this 'Spring Break palette' next to the till and grabbed it, and for only £4 you can't complain. I've only just tried out their matte lipsticks, which I loved (review here) so I'm definitely back in their 'loving' corner.

Iconemesis

Lets start with how amazingly pretty this is?! There is nothing I love more than something floral with pretty colours on, I think nearly every one of my phone cases have been floral bar one with an owl. But who doesn't love owls ha! I got this from Iconemesis.co.uk* who are a British brand which specialise in mostly phone cases. They have an amazing range and it was so hard to choose one!

I mean look how sweet are these ones:

My other phone case was in some desperate need of replacing so I'm pretty happy that I got a pretty new one! It's a hard back case so it's pretty sturdy, and for £15 it's pretty reasonable too especially the good quality! I just hope I don't drop it and scratch it!

Beauty sins

I'm sure I'm not the only one who has done any of these, I mean you must have at least done one.. I hope or I'm just a complete sloth! I am horrendously lazy and will happily miss something out if it means I can put my pyjamas on that little bit quicker after work. Here is the beauty sins I'm 100% guilty of..

1. I never ever take my eye make up off with a remover, I always have panda eyes in the morning.

2. I don't moisturise at night, I literally take my make up off and sleep.

3. I always forget to use face masks, I do love them when I remember though.

4. I always paint over my nail varnish on my feet. Feet are gross I have no interest in making them look 'pretty' cause they never will.

5. I only recently stopped washing my hair every night. And I still hate the feeling of unclean hair and I'm desperate to wash it.

6. I also never moisturise my body either, I keep buying body butters and use them a max 2 weeks and lose interest.

7. I go to the gym with my eyebrows on and concealer. But that isn't too bad is it?? If I was tan I wouldn't though..

8. I use out of date make up, hey if I'm hoarding an expensive foundation I am not throwing it out! Nor am I replacing my lipsticks every two years or something!

9. I never get my full 7 hours sleep, so I always look like death warmed up. Thank god for make up.

10. I never pluck my eyebrows, or get them waxed or anything. I always catch how disgusting they look one day in my car then decide to do them.

11. I shave my legs as less as I possibly can, I only do if I have to. Too much of a chore, especially in winter!

What are some sins you do? Or do you do any of the above too?

Breaking myself into fake lashes

Fake eyelashes
Fake eyelashes

I love the effect fake lashes give, I just never seem to be able to apply them easily! It usually gets to 15 minutes in and I have glue everywhere and I'm just generally sick of trying! But practise definitely makes perfect as I am getting better and it's starting to take half the time.. thank god! Though I must admit that the wind blew half of it off today and that really wasn't an attractive look at all.

I got these lashes from Born Pretty* in shape #2 as I thought they were the most natural looking ones and that is the thing I look for most in lashes. I hate the big thick spider ones, they aren't my cup of tea at all I prefer the 'natural' look. Seeing as I'm getting the hang of it I'm actually finding these pretty simple to apply, they're nice and thin and go along the lash line perfectly without needing a liner to hide it.

Here's what they're like on:

What the lashes are like on
What the lashes are like on

I am loving these and going to keep wearing them until they fall apart, then whinge about that when it comes around. But for £1.34 they aren't exactly going to break the bank when I need to repurchase them though are they! I think I'm going to buy one of the fancy fake eyelash tools (like this) to see if it will make it even easier to apply. If you use the code TSH10 you can get discount on all full price items.

What do you think of fake lashes? Do you wear them very often?

Rimmel Spice combo

Rimmel Spice and Mac Mehr lipstick
Rimmel Spice and Mac Mehr lipstick

I'm always on the hunt for a good liner, I probably have the same colour liner in about 3 different brands as I just can't help myself to try one out. So my latest one to try out was Rimmer Spice liner, a girl a work was wearing this and it just looked so nice I had to try it. Though it did take me AGES to get a hold of it, every single Superdrug/Boots sold every single colour bar this one! Tiramisu looked lovely though if you do end up wanting this and can't get it..
