Breaking myself into fake lashes

Fake eyelashes
Fake eyelashes

I love the effect fake lashes give, I just never seem to be able to apply them easily! It usually gets to 15 minutes in and I have glue everywhere and I'm just generally sick of trying! But practise definitely makes perfect as I am getting better and it's starting to take half the time.. thank god! Though I must admit that the wind blew half of it off today and that really wasn't an attractive look at all.

I got these lashes from Born Pretty* in shape #2 as I thought they were the most natural looking ones and that is the thing I look for most in lashes. I hate the big thick spider ones, they aren't my cup of tea at all I prefer the 'natural' look. Seeing as I'm getting the hang of it I'm actually finding these pretty simple to apply, they're nice and thin and go along the lash line perfectly without needing a liner to hide it.

Here's what they're like on:

I am loving these and going to keep wearing them until they fall apart, then whinge about that when it comes around. But for £1.34 they aren't exactly going to break the bank when I need to repurchase them though are they! I think I'm going to buy one of the fancy fake eyelash tools (like this) to see if it will make it even easier to apply. If you use the code TSH10 you can get discount on all full price items.

What do you think of fake lashes? Do you wear them very often?

  2. I love wearing false eyelashes, I've worn them everyday for the past 3 years, but I still struggle to get them right in under 10 minutes, I think it's an art I will never master.

I decided to make it easier on myself and for around a year, I've had individual eyelash extensions. They make for a perfect day time look, and if I do want to glam them up, I add a set of strip lashes as well (Red Cherry #43 I swear by them!)

  4. I put false lashes on only for makeup looks that I'm photographing, but I never wear them out, I just don't like the effect on myself, and I prefer to keep it all simple and comfortable lol

  5. I love false eyelashes! I don't wear them every day, but I do love putting them on for any kind of festive occasion. The first time I tried to put them on, it took me like 15 minutes. That was for one eye hahaha. I'm getting better now though. It takes some practice.

  6. Falsies are literally like the bane of my existence. I LOVE how they look on, but HATE having to apply them. I'm the same as you, glue everywhere sick of trying. But when I finally get them on right I just look at myself and am like "HECK YES I LOVE THESE!"

  7. I'm exactly the same as you when trying to apply false lashes, I normally give up after 10 minutes when I've got glue all over my eyelids and go into a little strop. These look amazing on though, really natural yet beautiful! Love that the band is really thin, that definitely makes them much easier to apply! Great post x

  8. These look lovely on you,

I've never been able to get into fake lashes due to the fact I wear glasses and they bang off the lenses :(

  9. I never wear lashes either as I feel like my eyes are so heavy when I do plus I'm terrible at applying them. These look so natural and light though I can definitely see why they're a great option to try out for the first time x

  13. That's such a bargain! I love false eyelashes, I'm currently wearing individual lashes atm. So once they are removed I'll wear them again.

  14. These look so cute! I tend to wear lashes a lot since my eyes get irritated from mascara. It's easier to wait a little extra time for it to dry so you can aim to get one corner on and then it'll be sticky enough to spread across the eye.

I even tried those black lash glues... that took SO long to get used to. Such a mess hahaha!

    1. Ah maybe where I'm going wrong then! Don't think I could use black glue, it must go everywhere!! x

  15. Yes exactly increasing the length and thickness of eyelashes using false lash extensions technique is just amazing concept.
