What I got for Christmas

Anastasia Beverly Hills, Ben Nye, Milani, The Balm, Mac Cosmetics, Whirl, Velvet Teddy
Nars, Steve Klein, Ben Nye, The Balm, Benefit, LaSplash Cosmetics

I don't know about anyone else but I love reading peoples Christmas posts and seeing what they got. I love seeing the gifts that have made that persons day, so I am doing one too as I appreciated and loved these gifts so much! (I am also in no way bragging). Christmas is definitely changing for me as I get older, it's not literally a pile of make up and I love it, it's one of my favourite things to receive and what most people hate buying me. But I can't get enough of it ha!

I got two lovely clothing items from Regram Runway, which has became my favourite shop and I wish the shop was closer to me. One was a beaut blouse from my cousin and the other was a pretty shirt dress from my parents. I also got some well overdue gym clothes and trainers from my Grandma, might spur me on to get back bright and early in January (I'm not skiving my gym is actually closed until then!).  I also got some other bits and bobs and amazing make up from my parents, I can't wait to use it all but will go into detail with it all in separate posts in the next few months.

We all gobbled our Christmas dinner within seconds so we didn't even get our family selfie this year. With my cousin being a nurse we didn't get our dinner until half 2, and by that point we we're all too hungry to pose for photos ha! We also had 3 dogs running riot all day, 2 are mine and 1 was a little visitor for Christmas. It was stressful to say the least and my poor two pooches have slept all day recovering..

But look how cute they were..

Beagle, Poochon, Spaniel

I hope you all had an amazing Christmas and have a fab New Year too! and thank you for reading my blog too, I'm so appreciative of you all :-)

No7 Moisture Drench Lipstick

No7 Moisture Drench Lipstick Review and Swatches
No7 Moisture Drench Lipstick Review and Swatches

I usually post on a Friday but seeing as it was Christmas I thought I would give it a miss, so today is a Saturday post instead for the first time!...

Anywaaay.. After the years of being obsessed with make up I've never actually bought a single thing from No7 before! Not for any reason in particular, mostly because I haven't heard much about the brand and rarely see them mentioned. They're not exactly the cheapest high street brand either, so possibly why I've always sidetracked them.. until now.

I saw this lipstick mentioned on Rebecca Olivia Capel's blog a while back and couldn't resist grabbing it the next time I was near a Boots store. There is other nice shades in the range, but this one has been set in my mind since I saw it. It's a rich red/brown colour and has a sheen finish. I have a similar colour which is Mac's Taupe, but it is a matte colour and not the best for winter when your lips are dry.

I just love how it has a pretty gold sheen to it, makes it even more perfect for Autumn time. I have been pairing this with my Rimmel Spice lip liner, it is a perfect match! I'm so glad I picked this up and really want to try Sugar Plum next!

Have you tried any of his range before?

By Terry Eyeshadow Dupe

Throughneweyesx By Terry Eyeshadow Dupe Born Pretty

I have been tempted into trying the By Terry eyeshadows but I'm not one for paying a hefty price for one single eyeshadow. So instead I opted for the Born Pretty Eyeshadow Bar (£3.69), definitely the cheaper version! I've tried eyeshadow pencils and everything and they weren't for me, but this and the By Terry ones is a lot more smoother of an application. It's slightly like the Maybelline cream shadows in consistency but as a stick! I find the stick application 100% easier to apply to my lid than the pots as I tend to end up with the majority of the cream shadow stuck in my nails (ew).

There is a few colours you can choose from, but I love a gold and it's always my go to colour so was only natural I would choose it. Though there was a few other colours I wanted to try out such as the grey shades and even the pink shade, but they will have to wait until next time!

It's a twist pen, so you don't have to sharpen it which for me is a godsend. I have a few Collection shadow pencils which need sharpening and I still haven't figured out how you do it. I like the ease to use it without having to faff on with it!

It's really pigmented too and has a good amount of glitter in it, I have been using it as a base for my smoky eyes. I have horrendously oily eyelids for some reason, so my shadow literally lasts the morning then it's gone. But with this as a base it lasts my whole day at work, I sometimes even just wear this on its own. It's very rare I don't put at least a swish of colour on my lids, I feel like my eyes are tiny peas if I don't!

Mac Dita Von Teese Lipstick

Throughneweyesx Mac Dita Von Teese Lipstick Review and Swatches
Throughneweyesx Mac Dita Von Teese Lipstick Review and Swatches

As soon as I saw Dita Von Teese was releasing a lipstick I knew I needed it, she always has the most perfect red colour and I need it. I also can't resist Mac's limited edition lipsticks, I love to hoard the packaging and always love the etching into the lipstick too. I have plenty of Mac reds already, but another isn't going to realistically make much difference!

The lipstick is described as a 'vivid tomato red' with a matte finish, which is her signature lip look so makes sense! It has a beautiful orange undertone which is perfect for us pale lot (and everyone else really). Seeing as this doesn't come with a matching liner, I have been wearing it with the Ruby Woo liner as it's a pretty perfect match though the lipsticks are quite different. But all depends if you like a bold lip or an ombre lip, I always mix depending on how I fancy it.

I've been searching high and low for a similar dupe for this seeing as it's sold out already! (I was hoping I could squeeze the post in before they sold out). So I will compare this against the reds I have, it just seems to have a little 'difference' to it that makes the dupes so different! I never realised how dark all my reds are until swatching them against this.

Although they're still not identical swatches, they're pretty similar. And are lipsticks that aren't limited edition, so at least if you like it you can grab similar colours. Though my Burberry lipstick did just snap taking this swatch, cue the tears..

Did you grab this?

Smashbox Full Exposure Palette

Throughneweyesx Smashbox Full Exposure Palette Review and Swatches
Throughneweyesx Smashbox Full Exposure Palette Swatches and review

I've seen this palette crop up a lot on Instagram, but I don't actually own anything from Smashbox or even tried any of their products. But the colours have drawn me in and I couldn't resist a little discount on it either, such a sucker (or easily led). I am super happy I did though, it's so good. The packaging isn't the most amazing thing out there, it's cardboard so not really strong compared to some out there. But it's sturdy enough and has a good sized mirror too.

The top row are all shimmer shades and the bottom row are all matte shades, so it has a good mix to create some good looks with. Whether it is a cut crease or a nice smoky eye (though I'm yet to master the cut crease). I couldn't resist using it before the photos.. blogger error. But it was just too pretty! I'm also actually pretty impressed with the brush too and that's something I don't usually say. It's a double ended brush with a thinner blending side and a fluffier side. It will be so handy when I take it away with me, saves me taking heaps of brushes.

I love golden tones when it comes to eyes, they're always a colour I think is easy to play with without going too wrong. And I find it so easy to go wrong.. ha. These colours also match all skin tones too, so it's pretty versatile. The lighter shades don't show up to well on swatches but they look good when blended into your brow bone.

Bakerdays Letterbox Cake* (& Giveaway) Closed

Throughneweyesx Bakerdays Letterbox Christmas Cake Review

Did someone say cake?! You really don't need to ask me twice at all.. not that I'm a pig or anything.. But I do love the concept of this, you can order a cake for any occasion from www.bakerdays.com and if you order a letterbox cake like this it gets delivered straight to that persons door. Granted the cake is only a mini 5" cake, but I think it is a really sweet concept and would love one delivered to me (hint 25th May)..

I had to include two photos because I just love how funny it is. There is a lot of different choices in the Christmas range, but this Darth Vader one was my favourite and I couldn't resist getting it. You can choose your filling too, I chose Victoria sponge as I'm boring. But it is literally my favourite sponge for an iced cake like this. To me chocolate cake needs to have flakes on.

When you order a letterbox cake depending on the occasion it will come with a little party gift, like with Christmas you get a Christmas cracker! I love the little added touch! I only chose this cake yesterday and it came already, it was sooo quick. So if you've forgot someones birthday and it's tomorrow, order them one of these ha!

The cake comes in a lovely little keepsake tin, and comes packed to keep it fresh. It can also last up to two weeks, but cake doesn't last that long around me at all. I'm going to take it to work and share it with my work lot on Monday. It's our Christmas party tonight so we're not indulging in beaaautiful smelling cakes until Monday (my mouths watering as I type this). I'm dying to eat the icing already, it's my favourite part of cake.

Have you tried Bakerdays out before? I'm definitely remembering this and ordering one for my Dad on his birthday.

So in light of this... I have a cake-giveaway for the choice of your very own Christmas cake. All you have to do is follow and retweet my pinned tweet on Twitter. I will then pick a number at random and choose the winner! The giveaway will end on the 16th of December, so it's just short and sweet!

Stvdio5 Donut Soap

Throughneweyesx Stvdio5 Donut Soap
Throughneweyesx Stvdio5 Donut Soap

This post is pretty delayed, I have a total backlog going on and no time to post them at the moment.. Uni life is well and truly taking over and I'm only part time! But anyway.. back to this pretty soap!! I've really found a love for handmade products after discovering Lush around last year some time. So I was super happy to see this little pretty soap in my box.

This is from Stvdio5, but was actually in my November Blogger Beauty Box (which is only £10!!). A little delayed, but I had to mention it as it's just so good. They actually have a really varied range on their website from soaps to face masks and even items readily boxed for gifts. You can actually buy a set of two of these donut soaps for only £10, which is pretty much on par with what you would pay at lush. I've just bought a set for my secret santa at work, who doesn't love pretty smellies!

This soap smells amazing, a little on the scented side for my sensitive skin but it hasn't irritated it at least! Plus this looks so pretty in my bathroom ha!

Lush Snow Fairy

Throughneweyesx Lush Cosmetics Snow Fairy Review
Throughneweyesx Lush Cosmetics Snow Fairy Review

I'm late on this bandwagon, I'm not really sure why either. I've always put off trying or buying this for myself but I actually bought this for someones Christmas present and thought I would treat myself to a little one too. I only bought myself this smaller version in case my stupid sensitive skin reacted to it, but it hasn't so I can go back and buy a big one before the festive season is over!

I also smelt Rose Jam, which smelt amazing but I still had convinced myself I needed to try this one first. This is actually the nicest smelling shower gel ever, it just smells so much like cotton candy I could possibly eat it. Your bathroom smells amazing when you walk in later too haha. It's also only £3.95 for a mini 100g bottle to see whether you like it or not first.. but you probably will, so wish I had bought the bigger one now.

The does have a little bit of glitter to it, but not enough to actually be able to notice it on you. Which I am really glad about actually as I hate glitter! This is also a good little item for a stocking filler for a present, I'm hoping someone has filled my stocking with it..
