Lush The Experimenter

Lush Cosmetics The Experimenter Bath Bomb
Lush Cosmetics The Experimenter Bath Bomb

Now this is the first Lush bath bomb I've actually been excited to buy! Everyone was raving on and on about it and it just looks amazing! (yes, I'm late to the party as usual). I think it's just how colourful it is that really makes me love it. It has a lovely vanilla smell and enriched with all the good oils that Lush include to make your skin feel super soft afterwards. Never found one yet that didn't have that effect! Makes it all that much better when it looks like this though.

Lush Cosmetics The Experimenter Bath Bomb

Loook how pretty it was when it went in!!!!

This really was like a rainbow fizzing away in my bath, a little multicoloured foam! There was also a looot of gold glitter! (which I hate cleaning out afterwards). The only downside was the after colour, once all the pretty colours blended together it turned to a murky green colour :-(. Like a big mould bath boo, wasn't as pretty as the rainbow! But I did love this and can't wait to grab another!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Palette

Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Palette
Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Palette

I've been after this palette for months, I really couldn't make my mind up between this one or the cream based formula but went for this one for it's ease! I spend the majority of my time applying my make up to go to work, so the one I thought I would get the most use out of is powder. It's easier to swish on as it doesn't need as much blending as a cream palette, though I do still want the cream one..!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Palette
Top L-R: Vanilla, Banana, Sand. | Bottom L-R: Java, Fawn, Havana.

I got the Light - Medium palette, as well I'm as pale as a ghost lately and no bronzer is going to cure that any time soon realistically. I use this with my Mac 168 Contour brush and my Real Techniques Setting Brush, I only use the setting brush for my light contour areas and anywhere that needs a little covering. In the kit there is two matte highlights (Vanilla and Banana), one shimmer highlight (Sand) and three contour shades. Havana is a little too dark for me at the moment, but I'm sure if I get a tan it will blend in perfectly.

I have a moon face, so I need as much contouring as I can get. I literally never leave the house without a little bit of bronzer under my cheekbones at the very least. It really does make heaps of difference to your face shape. Depending on your face shape will depend on which areas you should be contouring/highlighting. Youtube videos have always been my saviour when learning to contour.

I could have showed you my egg head for comparison, but thought the chart would be more informative.. :).

Though I love this the packaging is slightly lousy for what it is, I would have expected a nice acrylic palette rather than cardboard but the majority high end I've seen are all cardboard. Why?? But the upside of this palette is that once you run out of one shade you can replace the pan rather than having the buy a whole new palette. Which is so much better if you use one shade more than the rest like I probably will.

What is your favourite contouring tools?

Lush Peeping Santa

Lush Cosmetics Peeping Santa Bubble Bar
Lush Cosmetics Peeping Santa Bubble Bar

Now look at this little guy.. isn't he cuuuuute!! Why isn't it Christmas anymore so I can buy some more of him!

Peeping Santa is a bubble bar, which I didn't notice the first time I used him and chucked him all in. Rookie Error, his little eyes melted off. Second time round though I broke a bit of his hat off and melted it under the tap. It made my bath a really festive (even in January) red colour and smelt like strawberries, yum. He also made my bath fill with bubbles too!

I was pretty impressed with this, and now I'm pretty gutted I didn't buy any more in the sales. I'll have to splash out on fancy Valentines ones instead! I'm not complaining at all.. haha. I do like to switch between bath bombs and bubble bars, it's fun having a nice bright colourful bath but I love a good bubble bath too.

This little guy is definitely on my 2016 Lush Christmas wish list, along with Snow Fairy obviously.

Hey! Holla Gym Accessories*

Hey Holla Fitness Accessories Review
Hey Holla Fitness Accessories Review
Hey Holla Fitness Accessories Review

I'm getting myself back into the gym routine this week and actually been loving it, I still haven't put the Christmas chocolates away but I'm sure I'll finish them off next week.. I've got myself my new trainers and even a new flash gym to go to, so I'm for once actually excited to go to the gym on Monday. Have I become one of those people?? I actually secretly hope so, I had my first protein pancakes on Sunday and they were actually amazing! I plan to try and be good this year and actually get my body to where I want it to be, nice toned stomach please?

The bag is pretty big, so will fit all you need in it especially if you go after work and need somewhere to put everything! I always go to the gym after work as I'm not a morning person at all so I need this to shove all my work clothes into rather than trying to squeeze them into my work bag (never fits). This is also going to be soo handy to use when travelling too as it's so light! I was also desperate for a nice new gym towel too, so glad I got this as it's super soft!

Grab these here:
Hey! Holla Tote Bag - £18
Hey! Holla Gym Towel - £10
Hey! Holla Hair Ties - £7.50
Nike Trainers - £104 (Footlocker)
Water Bottle Infuser - £10 (eBay)

You can also get 20% off at Hey! Holla until the end of January using 'NEWEYES20'! and if you're really interested in healthy eating/exercise Hey! Holla will be at Be:Fit health & fitness show in London in Spring!

Mac Viva Glam Cindi

Throughneweyesx Mac Viva Glam Cindi
Throughneweyesx Mac Viva Glam Cindi

I have always thought Mac's Viva Glam range was an amazing cause, especially seeing as 100% of the profit goes to charity rather than just a percentage.. but I've never managed to grab a colour I liked until I saw this one. As much as I love GaGa her range was just too pale of a pink for my skin tone, but when I saw this one released I loved it!

The Viva Glam Cindi is a coral red shade, it is quite an opaque shade but I do think it is a lovely subtle every day colour. It is a 'lustre' finish which means it is really moisturising on your lips unlike some Mac lipsticks that dry your lips, so for winter it's a nice colour to apply and now worry about your lips chapping.  I also love the red detailing to the packaging compared to the usual silver Mac colour, it makes it stand out in my make up collection so I know what it is. I don't know about anyone else, but I have so many lipsticks I have to read the bottoms to know what they are.. so a distinctive colour makes it easier.

Mac Viva Glam Cindi

Although I am more of an opaque lipstick person, I do sometimes gravitate towards a subtle lip if I'm having a more natural make up day or if I have a busy day and won't have time to top up. I also just like how smooth it makes my lips feel, and it doesn't need liners perks!

Have you bought any of the Viva Glam range yet? There's a beautiful Miley Cyrus one out at the moment and that is next on my list. It's a bright orange toned red and it's matte woo!

Food: The Dirty Bottles Tap room and Smokehouse

The Dirty Bottles Tap Room and Smokehouse, Alnwick

The Dirty Bottles Tap room and Smokehouse is somewhere I have wanted to go since it opened, it's in a little town in Northumberland called Alnwick. And it is amaaazing. I am a sucker for any place with a rustic look to it and well.. this is it in a nutshell. Plus it's also a perk they do meat platters so I can eat as much pulled pork as I can.

So on our table there was an iPad where you order all your food, drinks and any extras. It's the best idea ever, no more trying to catch the waiters attention frantically when you're desperate for a drink. There was also a 'pour your own' tap on the table where you could pour Strawberry & Lime Rekorderlig or Coors Light.. amazing. I only wish I hadn't been driving so I could have had unlimited cider and cocktails.

I ordered the 2 meat 2 sides platter, and it was beaut! I'm a little non-adventurous and whilst being loaded with the flu I dosed myself up on enough potatoes to last a lifetime. I got sweet potato fries (which were delicious), potato skins (which I wish had bbq/cheese on), smoked sausage and pulled pork. My boyfriend got the brisket beef which was also delicious, if I hadn't of had the flu I would have got the 3 meats to try them all, but moderation and all that..

The Dirty Bottles Tap Room and Smokehouse, Alnwick

I also got a 'sharing sundae' for one, as my boyfriend was adamant he wanted fudge cake so I asked for a smaller 'sharing sundae'. It was sooo good. Chocolate brownies, marshmallows, strawberries, Morwick ice cream.. lush. If you don't know what Morwick ice cream is either, you need to check that out too (in the Summer). There was also a bar area which I guess would be fab when you're meeting up with friends etc but I didn't get the benefits of it from driving (cry).

If you have heard of 'Longhorns' in Newcastle, this is better. No ridiculous queues, you can book a table and it has way better seating arrangements. I loved it,  and already can't wait to return.. who's taking me next time??

LaSplash Cosmetics in Hidden Desires

LaSplash Hidden Desires Review and Swatches
LaSplash Hidden Desires Review and Swatches

If you regularly read my blog you'll probably know I 1. love lipstick and 2. love liquid lipsticks, and here is another liquid lipstick. I did write about my first LaSplash Liquid Lipstick in Latte Confession and Ghoulish back in May, and this is now my third. I can't get enough of them, their staying power is second to none I don't know how they do it! When I compared them against my other liquid lipsticks LaSplash and Kat Von D were the best in my collection so far.

This one is yet another purple colour in my collection, I really can't help it. I love purple lipsticks! I do have my eye on another few shades from this range, just waiting for them to come back into stock! This shade is called Hidden Desires and is a vibrant lilac/purple shade, it is super bright but quite similar to Mac's Violetta (which I also have..).

LaSplash Hidden Desires Review and Swatches

I know I've said it a billion times, but these don't budge. You do need a good exfoliation and balm prior to using them, but for me that's like any liquid lipstick I use and the last thing you need is dry lips. If you have a steady hand you can apply these around your lips like a liner too, with the little brush it makes it easy to get a smooth even line.

I'm desperate to get my hands on Vampire and Untamed though.. pleaaaase come back in stock!!

What is your favourite liquid lipstick brand?

Barry M Lip Paints*

Barry M Lip Paints review and swatches
Barry M Lip Paints

I'm again showing my love for Barry M's lipsticks, this time their more sheer version rather than the Barry M Ultra Moisturising Lip Paints I reviewed the other month. Barry M is a brand I don't see much of in the beauty world so it's nice to be able to try something first hand. These lipsticks also come in a black bullet similar to the Nars packaging's texture, though it's quite plain packaging it still looks fab.

Barry M Lip Paints swatches
Pillar Box Red - Pink Suede - Shocking Pink

Pillar Box Red
Reds are my favourite colour so it was inevitable I was going to be drawn to the red shade. Though it isn't as pigmented as half of my other reds, it is easy to apply for a day at work. It's quite a light shade as far as finishes go, it lasts a few hours but needs regular top ups and doesn't leave any stain. It reminds me of a sheen version of Ruby Woo (though I do love my Ruby Woo more).

Pink Suede
Personally I don't think it's pink at all? More a brown toned shade, but hey! This was the closest I've ever got to a 'Kylie Jenner' shade, and I love it. I actually carry this one in my handbag to apply in the afternoons when I need a bit of a perk up. This matches perfectly with Rimmels Tiramisu liner and gives it a more of a finished look too. With them having a sheen finish they don't have a solid outline when applied, which is something I like. This is my favourite of the 3 and the one I use the most.

Shocking Pink
This one scares me a little, it is so so bright. I'm not even sure I will ever be brave enough to wear it outdoors. It reminds me of Mac's Candy Yum Yum, which is a colour I've always been too scared to buy too (ha). It's beautifully pigmented and really opaque, so if you like pink lipsticks it is pretty amazing quality. I'm a little sad I can't pull off pink.. maybe one day.

Have you tried any of these before?

Shrinking Violet*

Shrinking Violet Weight Loss Kit
Shrinking Violet weight Loss Kit

I must admit, I hadn't heard of Shrinking Violet before I was contacted by them. But was intrigued by the idea, and hell, I'm willing to try anything weight loss wise! I always have that extra bit of chub that just doesn't go away no matter how much weight I lose or how much I go to the gym. I mean I probably could cut out popcorn, but what sort of torture is that?

In the set you get:
'Shrinky Suit' - which is a giant silver plastic jogger and sweater set, I've never felt more hilarious in something before. I actually looked like an alien and both my parents found it hilarious.. my boyfriend definitely wasn't going to see me in it at all.
Oil - which you apply all over your 'problem' areas before getting into the suit.
Tape measure - to measure yourself before and after.
Measurement Cards - to record your inch loss on.

It's supposed to increase your body temperature by around 2% to make you sweat out all your 'impurities'. I didn't actually think it was that warm? I expected to be boiling when I got out of it! You also can't shower for 24 hours after using this, so I was actually relieved it wasn't boiling to wear otherwise I would have showered. You wear the suit for an hour then remove it and rub the oil into your skin thats left over. The oil also makes your skin feel really moisturised and doesn't leave a horrible residue. But it's not the easiest thing to clean up, so don't drop it! (I did).

At my first go, I was pretty impressed as I have lost nearly two inches all over (especially my boobs, thank god). But the second time round I actually seemed to gain 2 inches?! I'm not really entirely sure what happened there, then my next few goes I didn't lose any more. I'm not sure if this works better if you have a lot of body fat, or it just wasn't for me.. I'm not sure. Maybe the salon versions are a little more hardcore than this, but for me I just didn't find any spectacular results to warrant me telling anyone.

Have you tried anything like this before?

My Favourite Berry Shades

Throughneweyesx Autumn/Winter Lipstick Swatches
Throughneweyesx Autumn/Winter Lipstick Swatches

I'm a berry shade person all year round really, so the Autumn/Winter trend isn't new to me. I just love the look of a dark lipstick whether it's with a tan or if I'm ghostly pale (like right now). I also tend to prefer the softer finishes in Winter as my lips are always so dry, but I still brave out a matte lipstick then chew it off later and regret it..

Throughneweyesx Autumn/Winter Lipstick Swatches
Left to Right: Mac Odyssey, Mac Diva, Mac Hang-Up and YSL Rouge Volupte 18.

YSL Rouge Volupte 18 - Is a deep red colour with a sheen finish. This is the most moisturising out of the bunch even though it is the most transparent once applied. I love the scent of these too, it reminds me of parma violets mmm. These are more expensive than Mac lipsticks at £26, but I think the packaging makes up for it!

Odyssey - Is a plum shade with a frost finish, which is what gives it it's glitter look finish. It does need topped up throughout the day with it only being a frost finish but it is also really easy to reapply and doesn't cause any build up like some matte lips do.

Hang-Up - Is a deep berry shade with a creamsheen finish. It is pretty much identical to Diva, but with a different finish which is probably why I love it so much. I'm a Diva addict and this is the easy version. With this being a creamsheen finish you don't need a liner as it doesn't bleed like a lot of Mac lipsticks. It lasts a few hours leaving a nice stain, but does need reapplied throughout the day.

Diva - As for this one, it seems to be everyones favourite at the moment. I do understand why, as you just feel amazing once you put it on. Seeing as it is a matte shade, it's not the easiest shade to apply. You need to ensure your lips aren't dry and have been exfoliated otherwise it just doesn't apply properly. But it just looks fab with Mac's Nightmoth liner and is my all time favourite Mac shade so far.

Which is your favourite Autumn/Winter shade?
