23rd birthday goodies

See more of my birthday make up goodies

I'm definitely not hard to buy for when it comes to birthdays or Christmas, make up and quirky items are the way to my heart. There is nothing I love more than an item I've been lusting after for months, especially make up wise. There is so much make up that is either always out of stock or just a pain to get delivered (I'm looking at you Colourpop).

I'm not going to review any of the pretty make up today, though I am soooo tempted to write about them all right now! But just think about the upcoming reviews! I am super excited to use the Wunderbrow a bit more though, I keep seeing it crop up on Instagram. I've also eventually got my first Zoeva products, the colours in it are amazing.

I was so excited to eventually have some Colourpop and Anastasia lip products, it feels like I've been after them for ages! And does anything else beat Jeffree Star lipsticks? I know I already have Scorpio and Androgyny.. but sooo!

I love anything owls and quirky, so little bits like these are right up my street! My new journal is putting my old bullet journal to absolute shame though, I'm going to have to start all over again. I mean look at the jewels on the books clasp! I also got some Lush goodies, even ones I haven't tried before. Quite intrigued by the Twilight shower gel!

I also got a travel journal off my friend Robyn to plan my New York trip! I am soooo excited to be going back in December with the other half. So I'm going to do his head in organising it all in this book until we go! (sorry David ha).

Are there any reviews you want to see first from these?

Kylie Lip Kit in Posie K and 22

Read my review of the Kylie Lip Kits in Posie K and 22

I did tell myself I was going to resist buying these, I did last a few months of temptation.. But obviously the beauty blogger in me couldn't resist in the slightest. My purse did let out a little cry during but hey ho, I'm paying for it now.

I decided to grab Posie K and 22, I mostly wanted 22 cause I kept seeing Vix wear it on her snapchats and it's just an amazing colour. There is nothing I love more than a red lip, and this ticks all the boxes for me.

Creating my first Blog Media Kit

Read my tips on creating a Blog Media Kit

This is something I have tried to avoid for nearly 2 years, and so far managed to not need one. Well, until recently when I've actually been asked for one (noo). I didn't realise how technical and fancy they were! So after hours of googling and finding the best option, I'm here to give my tips on creating one! And if you're anything like I was, just to find out what one actually is too! I've also written posts on 'How to be a good blogger' and 'Juggling blogging with life', I quite enjoy writing these types of posts so I hope you find it helpful in some way.

What is a Blog Media Kit?
It's basically a CV but for your blog, you're advertising yourself and your blog and why you're someone they should work with. You need easy to read, relevant information to really show what your blog is about.

Vita Liberata Body Blur

Read my review of Vita Liberata Body Blur fake tan

I'm pretty much a ghost all year round, even with a tan I only qualify to be white and not see through. But I love having a tan so much, it's a cruel world ha. I don't know why but I feel so much better tanned, especially at this time of year when dresses are wearable without tights (somedays anyway). I do dabble with fake tan every now and then, but I have to have the effort in me. It's usually when I'm going on a night out or a special occasion like the races. If I want a lazy tan that lasts over a week I'll use the St Tropez In Shower Cream (review here), but that doesn't help matters when it's last minute plans!

My contouring go-to products

Read more on my contouring go to products

I'm actually one of those people who contours in one way or another, every morning.. yep. I obviously have too much time on my hands, or I get up too early to do this. But otherwise I look like a giant moon face and won't leave the house, so yeah. I have a few products that I will always gravitate towards when contouring, and these are the four I need for different looks.

Some of these are for when I have more time, and others are a quick swipe that will last all day. Obviously having oily skin my makeup doesn't last all that long, especially powder products. So if I'm out all day I need something long lasting.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit
Read more on my contouring go to products
I've reviewed the Anastasia Beverly Hills contour kit before, so I won't delve too much into detail about it (review here). I love this kit though, out of anything I've tried this is my all time favourite. There is so many colours to play with, so if I'm tan I can use the darker shades and if I'm pale like I normally am I can use the lighter shades. I mostly mix between the first two shades as they're the lightest for my skintone and blend perfectly. The banana shade is perfect for under my eyes too. I mostly use this for nights out or special occasions, it doesn't last all that long on me but it can survive a night out!

Hourglass Ambient Lighting palette
Read more on my contouring go to products
I wrote about the Ambient Lighting Palette over a year ago now (review here) but I'm still loving it. A little goes a long way with this palette, so it has lasted me forever. I use it very rarely though, it creates an amazing dewy glow which is perfect for summer. So it will get some extra use again this summer. The first shade is an all over powder, second is a highlight and third is the contour shade. It's a really warm shade, so you only need a little of it. But it actually lasts ages on your face and looks amazing.

Nars Steven Klein palette
Read more on my contouring go to products
I only recently wrote about the Nars Steven Klein palette, but I've had it for ages so I know how much I love it. There is the two contour shades and the Laguna bronzer. To be honest I gravitate towards the Laguna bronzer more than the contour shades, just cause it's easier to blend under my cheekbones than the contour shades on a lazy day. Though the two contour duo are amazing, the light powder brightens under my eyes perfectly. Laguna is every day shade though.

Revolution The One Blush Stick
Read more on my contouring go to products
I love this, I've had it for donkeys but it's the perfect dupe for the Nars multiple. This is a product I either use to up my contour game for a night out or just something simple that will last all day. I apply this using my Real Techniques expect face brush, the rounded bristles apply this perfectly. This lasts a whole day at work in the warm office conditions and even a boiling hot day outside. I looove it!

So there it is, there is my ultimate contouring go-to's. I do have heaps of other contouring products I break out occasionally but these are definitely my most used and loved. They look amazing with a bit of The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer as a highlight too (nothing has beat that highlight for me, though my Becca one is nearly on par).

What are your go-to contour bits?

Haircare Basics

Read my haircare routine here

I don't think I've ever done a haircare post on here before, probably cause I mostly neglect my hair compared to my makeup and skincare routines. Recently my hair has been awful, maybe it's the change in seasons, so I thought I needed to up my routine a little and make some more effort. The majority of these products I bought a while ago with the intention to look after it and never did, I have eventually though!

Birthday Wishlist

See my Birthday wishlist here

So this month is my birthday month! Can't believe how quickly it's flown around?! I'm 23 in less than 3 weeks! What happened! But on the upside, this means I can create a wishlist for all the things I'm lusting over lately. Obviously I'm a makeup fanatic, beauty blog obvs, so naturally there is heaps of makeup I want. Some I'll lust over forever cause I'm not going to get it, I'm looking at you Too Faced Peaches.. Cry, be mine.

So these are the things I'm desperate for lately, and don't want to fork out for myself hahah. Theres two Jeffree Star lipsticks in Redrum and Doll Parts, I know I already have Scorpio and Androgyny but the formula is just so good I feel like I need the majority. Definitely not feeling the white shade though, yak. There is also another Liquid lipstick in Tulle from Colourpop and a lipstick in Luminere. I've wanted to try this brand for AGES so it's only right they're on here. Their eyeshadows and highlights will be purchased in the future too!

There is two cult products I'm after which is the Too Faced Born This Way foundation, I've read so many reviews on this but can never find it in stores. So I'm going to risk buying a foundation online.. aaahh. I'm hoping the colour Vanilla matches my skintone! The other cult product is the Urban Decay Primer Potion, with my new found love for eyeshadow it's only fair I have a good primer. I have the worst lids known to man so I'm praying this actually works with me seeing as nothing else does!

I'm also including some clothes which is a yellow off the shoulder top from H&M which is soooo pretty! A orange-red pleated skirt from New Look, which is perfect for Summer and last of all some simple little sandal/shoes from New Look. I'm running low on shoes again, I don't actually know where they go to. Plus these are wearable to work, so kills two birds with one stone.

I'm excited about the prospect of these, pleaaase birthday fairy (I'm obviously joking). Hoping my boyfriend has taken the hints... Ha.

What's on your wishlist lately?

Jeffree Star Scorpio

See my review of Jeffree Star Scorpio here

I'm meant to be saving I know, but when I saw Jeffree Star was releasing his new shade Scorpio I needed it. I honestly did..! I've fallen in love with his range ever since I got my hands on Androgyny (review here). These liquid lipsticks have been to longest wearing lipsticks I own, they literally don't budge, which is exactly what you want from a liquid lipstick. So I obviously needed my second one to start my collection.

First Milani Baked Blush in Corallina

See my review of Milani Baked Blush in Corallina
See my review of Milani Baked Blush in Corallina

So happy first day of May!! How quickly has this flown over, as if it May already! Anyway..

This is a blush I have drooooled over ever since I have seen them on Jasmine Talks blog, I love their baked texture and bright pigmented colours. Even just looking at them I knew they would be fab, you can see the mixture of different tones that would make an amazing effect similar to the Hourglass blushes texture (which I also want!). At £5.99 they're also a fraction of the Hourglass blushes price tag, and just as good too. They do have a flick of glitter in though, so if a glitter blush isn't your thing I wouldn't choose this one (but buy it anyway cause it's lush).
