Jeffree Star Watermelon Soda

See my review of Jeffree Star Watermelon Soda here

If you you've been reading for a while you should probably know by now that I am a complete sucker for a liquid lipstick, I can't get enough of them. Even more so if they're limited edition like Watermelon Soda. This shade is one of the summer range, the rest of the range was a little too 'out there' for me but I knew I needed this shade after seeing the swatches. It was just so bright and different to all my other liquid lipsticks I have.

This is actually my 5th liquid lipstick from Jeffree Star and I have loved them all so much. I know there is plenty of drama going around about this brand, but if I like something I'm not going to let that stop me buying it. I already have Red RumDoll PartsScorpio and Androgyny, I love the formula of all four and wear one pretty much every week. But Watermelon Soda's formula is a little different, I'm not sure why it's different but it hasn't made a huge different to the durability of the colour! Though I have heard some bad reviews of the other shades.

If you did grab one and your formula is super watery, pop it in the fridge for a few hours and the formula will go back to it's normal thicker application, best tip!

Watermelon Soda isn't as opaque as the other shades and does take a little more working with to get a good even colour, but each time I've applied it I've had a streak free colour and it's lasted hours as usual. It's not as long wear as say Doll Parts and Scorpio but it does last a good 5+ hours if you're not eating lots of greasy things in between.

I like to wear Watermelon Soda with either my Mac Half Red liner to darken it down or my Mac More to Love liner which may not be the perfect match but it blends together amazingly. I like to wear a liner, whether it's coloured or a clear one to stop liquid lipsticks bleeding into my skin, they're definitely needed with this shade as it's a little more watery than the usual JS lipsticks. NYX Ibiza is pretty much an identical dupe too, so if you don't want to pay the shipping fees grab that! The only noticeable difference is the formula, but who doesn't love the NYX lipstick formulas?!

What did you think of the Jeffree Star summer shades?
