Best Budget Matte Lipsticks

Rimmel Only 1 Matte Lipstick

I know some of you's are probably sick of seeing these by now, but I'm not sick at looking at them. The shades are all so perfect I can't stop using them. If you read this quite often you probably know by now that I can't get enough of matte lipsticks, so when I received these they were straight up my street. Plus any matte collection with a purple shade in is going to win me over anyway, nothing beats a purple lip!

I didn't actually own a single Rimmel lipstick before these, I was always tempted by the Kate Moss collection but very little steered me away from Mac lipsticks as I always knew they were good. But now, I can't remember the last time I bought a Mac lipstick! In the Only 1 Matte Lipstick range there is a shade for every season, there is the browns and reds for Autumn-Winter and all the pinks for Spring-Summer. Me, I wear any lip colour any time of year as there is always a time for a vampy lip whatever the weather.

Left to Right - Leader of the Pink, Salute, Trendsetter, High Flyer, Call the Shots, Take the Stage, The Matte Factor, Look Who's Talking and Run the Show.

These shades are super creamy and apply smoothly on to your lips, theres nothing worse than a lipstick that is sooo matte that it tugs on your lips when you apply it. They're also not drying to wear, they keep your lips feeling soft whilst having a colour that lasts hours. The only ones I have to work with a bit more are The Matte Factor and Look Who's Talking, because they're quite dark shades they can bleed without a good liner. The darker ones can also cling to dry patches on your lips too, like with any matte lipstick it's always best to use a lip scrub and balm before applying them to have a smooth base!

I really love these lipsticks, all the colours are perfectly opaque and apply evenly. Some budget matte lipsticks can be quite patchy and take a few layers but these are great with one swipe. Only downside for me is the bullet shape, maybe it's just my lip shape but I find it quite hard to apply around my cupids bow. I'm so used to my lipsticks having some sort of point! But it definitely wouldn't put me off these.

Also if you love a good dupe, Trendsetter is pretty identical to Mac Brave!

Have you grabbed any of these yet?
