Seeing as it's just after payday I needed an excuse to go buy myself a few goodies the other day. I'm budgeting myself this month after buying a new car, so high street brands it is this time. (Even though I am dying to splurge on Nars stuff).

After seeing a lot of bloggers talk about Collection's new products I had to go out and grab some. I saw Shaaanxo talk about their eyeshadow pencils (£2.50 each) on one of her vlogs which enticed me to buy these. I didn't think these were as blend-able as I thought they would be, but they have such a pigmented colour!

I was also in need of a new liquid eye liner seeing as my Eyeko one has dried up, so I bought these (£2.99 each). I much prefer pen liners as I find them easier to hold and easier to get a smoother line. I loved these! I got a blue colour and a plain old trusty black, they're so smooth!

I was going to try the Collection bronzer, but I found it a little too dark for my light skin. So instead I got the Make Up Academy mosaic bronzer (£2.50), with this having a few brown tones in I thought it wouldn't be as harsh on my skin! I use this to bronze under my cheekbones where I will contour with my Mac blush too.

I couldn't resist getting some shoes either, the black ones are from River Island (£35.00) and the white ones are from Deichmann (£17.50). It was the first time I had been in the Deichmann shop but I saw these in the window and needed them!

Last of all I got some necklaces, I wanted one of these black chokers to wear with my black dress at a party at the weekend.. not that I even wore it. I love the mood necklace though, even though it wasn't my intended buy! The black collection is from Topshop (£15.00 I think) and the colourful one is from New Look and was £7.50.

What have been your latest purchases?

Beauty Blender

Ever since I heard about Beauty Blenders over a year ago it's all I've ever used. Even new brushes I've tried I always go back to this.

I've never actually bought a real Beauy Blender, I've always just used the eBay dupes (which have always worked fine for me). And for 2 for £4.50 I can't really complain either.

I can only assume they're just about the same thing, maybe the Beauty Blenders are better quality.. But mine does exactly what I want it to!

How I use it:

I dampen the Beauty Blender under the hot tap until it's wet all the way through, then I rinse out any excess water so it doesn't water down my foundation.

I then dot my foundation around where I want it on my face and blend it around in a dabbing motion all over my face with the Beauty Blender. (Looking lush in the photo)

Depending on the weather will depend on whether I use my Beauty Blender for my concealer or not. If it's hot my makeup tends to stay on better if I out my concealer on with a brush, if it's cold it doesn't seem to effect it (weird). If I do use it I use the pointed end to dab the concealer around my eyes so it doesn't go all over my eyelids.

What do you use to put your make up on? Have you ever tried a Beauty Blender?

My favourite part of doing my make up is doing my eyebrows, so I thought I would do a post of how I do them. I think it might be the only part of make up I can relatively do okay! But I recently annihilated my eyebrows (by accident) so now they have no tail. Suppose it does help me try different shapes easier, one perk!

Here is my brow at the beginning:

To start with I draw the shape I want underneath my brows using the gel. I always find it easier drawing underneath first to make sure the shape is even and how I like it first! Sometimes I draw them quite straight and sometimes they have a slight curve to them.

I then draw the outline of the shape I want above my brow, I run out of brow in some places so it needs filled in more than other areas. When filling my brows in I only brush the inner part of my brow lightly as I don't want the shape being prominent in the middle of my face! (Or like tadpoles).

As I go on I sometimes change it more to make sure they're even! I use concelear to go around my brows and straighten out any areas I may have caught or that might not be even. I don't use a lot for everyday as I would if I was getting ready for a night out. (I also use eye primer for under my brow).

Then I'm all done! Just need eye make up and mascara to finish it all off!

A little bit of eye shadow and liner makes then stand out so much more!

I do this every day for my brows, I feel naked without them now! I only wish they would grow in this shape...

How do you do your brows or do you stay au natural?

Products used:
Anastasia Beverly Hills brow duo - Dark brown
Collection 2000 eye liner - Brown
Maybelline Brow Drama
MUA concealer palette in Porcelain (only the first colour)
Mua angled brush

Brows are the best way to frame your face.. I couldn't imagine my make up with out doing them!

Purple lips

I love purple lip colours, especially darker colours. They can make plain make up look so much bolder and brighter. A simple little cat flick can also make eye make up so different, even without any eye shadow.

Products used:
Primer - Embryolisse
Foundation - Estée Lauder Double Wear
Brows - Collection Brown Gel Liner and Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Duo
Eyes - The Balm Nude'Tude, Mac mascara and Maybelline Gel Liner
Powders - Mac Harmony matte (to contour), Mac Soft and Gentle (to highlight) and Mac Dainty as a blush.
Lips - Mac Hang-Up

What's your favourite make up look?

Maybelline Baby Lips

I loved all the first Baby Lips colours that came out this time last year (and bought them all), so once I saw this little gem I grabbed it! I didn't realise the new colours had came out in the UK yet as I hadn't seen them anywhere. Seeing as I love purple lips this is the perfect colour for me.

It isn't a harsh purple, it's nice and subtle so it is perfect for any day! I usually have these shoved in my handbag for a little colour half way through the day. I found this in Superdrug for only £2.99, they only had this colour in which is "Berry Bomb". But you can buy the other colours from the 'Electro' collection online from Superdrug too.

If you're looking for a pop of colour on your lips but don't want something harsh, Baby Lips is one of your best bets for ease!

Today's make up!

First of I use the Embryolisse moisturiser as my primer and moisturiser in one, it keeps my make up on all day (even when it's hot). I then use my beauty blender to put my foundation on, I dot my foundation where I think I need it and dab it around my face with the beauty blender.

To do my brows I use the MUA angled brush with Anastasia Beverly Hills brow duo and Collection brown eye liner. I use the brown eye liner to draw the shape I want my browns to be, I then fill them in using it. I use the excess product to do the start of my brows for an ombre effect. I then use the Anastasia brow duo to fill in any lighter areas where I don't have much brow and to create more of an ombre effect.

I dab the Mac concealer under my eyes with my finger to brighten up my dark circles (and make me look less of a zombie). I then brush the Loreal concealer on areas I want to highlight. (above cheekbones, down my nose, upper jaw line and parts of my forehead) I use my Real Techniques expert face brush to dab it out and blend it in.

I use the Real Techniques stippling brush to bronze where I am going to contour (so my contour doesn't look too harsh), I brush it under my cheekbones and around my hairline. I then use my Mac angled brush to contour under my cheekbones, jawline and my nose. I again use the stippling brush to apply my Mac blush to the apples of my cheek and to apply the Mac Skinfinish above my cheekbones.

I'm currently using my The Balm Nude'Tude palette, I got this from the Birchbox store here. I use a different colour in here every day but it's my favourite day time eyeshadow palette at the moment!

I've reverted back to using my Eyeko eyeliner at the moment, it's great for getting a thin outline around my eye and for cat eyes too! (it does dry out quickly though). And I also use Mac Extreme Dimension mascara to finish off my eye look, I love this mascara but I do tend to get a bit of panda eye half way through the day.

For my lips I used Mac Cremecup with Dervish lipliner, I used the lipliner to blend out a darker pink ombre type lip. I'm far too pale to pull off a light pink on it's own!

And here is my final look! What are your favourites for doing your make up? Do you have any tips?

July Birchbox

As much as I hate getting excessive amount of creams in my Birchbox, I loved this months! I'm trying my best (but not very well) to get myself on a health kick, so this coconut water is a good start to trying new things out.

First off is the Gilchrist & Soames Mineral Bath which is £11.25. You pour it under the hot tap for a relaxing bath! It doesn't have much of a fragrance which is good for my sensitive skin.

Whish Lavender Body Butter £14.50. It soaks into skin really well and doesn't leave a greasy residue after, which is always a put off for me as I have no patience. The lavender smell isn't too overpowering either, it smells similar to the Laura Mercier vanilla body butter with a lavender tinge to it!

Weleda Millet Nourishing Shampoo £8.95. This smells a bit like hand cream so I am slightly dubious if I want my hair to smell like that, but the last Weleda I tried made my hair feel like a dream.. so I will see.

Edit: after trying this I just couldn't get a lather to wash it out! My hair just felt dry afterwards.. I'll not be using it again!

I have been thinking of trying a eye cream for a while as I'm always squinting rather than putting sunglasses on! I've tried a few Balance Me products and they work well with my sensitive skin so I'm excited to try the Wonder Eye Cream £20. Hopefully this will make my eyes look less tired!

I love purple lipstick so I was really excited to see this Laqa & Co. Lip Lube Pencil £14. I've tried some of their lipsticks before and wasn't too convinced as they had a horrible taste to them, but this one is amazing! It has a slight minty smell to it which is refreshing to put on your lips and it is nice and glossy. Even though they say you can use this without a lip liner I'll be using one in the future when wearing this.

And the last goodie I got was Vita Coco Natural Coconut Water in Lemonade £2.29. I've been meaning to join in on the craze, but I've always been scared to try it (I'm picky). It's not actually as bad as I thought it would be! The lemonade dulls out the coconut taste, it's only the thicker texture that reminds me it isn't just lemonade. It is best to drink ice cold though as it wasn't so nice when it was warm (yuk!).

What beauty boxes do you get and what is your favourite?

What's on my face today?

I really enjoy doing make up, I wish there was courses on around my area so I could learn all the tricks!

This is today's look!
I've just gone for a simple dewy neutral look for work. Hate wearing a lot of make up when it's so hot lately (my skin also disagrees with it)

What I used:

Face: Embryolisse primer/moisturiser, Estée Lauder double wear foundation, Loreal Touché Magnifique, Mac Harmony matte (to contour), Mac Soft and Gentle (to highlight) and Mac Up the Amp lipstick.

Brows: Anastasia Beverly Hills brow duo, Collection 2000 gel liner

Eye make up: The Balm Nude'Tude palette, Maybelline black gel liner, Mac Mountain Air liner

What is your favourite part of doing your make up? Or do you have any helpful tips? Always up for learning more!
