Tarte Shape Tape Collection

Tarte Shape Tape Collection

It's been a whole year since I bought my first Tarte Maneater collection from QVC, I still love it to this day and was so impressed by it. So when I saw this pop up all over I knew I needed to grab it! QVC do easy pay instalments too which make it so much easier to treat yourself! I barely ever buy myself nice expensive make up anymore, 1. I don't actually know where my money goes and 2. I'd rather spend it exploring somewhere! But a treat every now and then is always good, and still probably the way to my heart even though I don't blog about beauty all that much anymore (I still love it though).

I've been wanting to try the Shape Tape concealer forever, but my pre Bali funds have said otherwise so that will have to wait. So instead when I saw the Shape Tape foundation I knew I had to grab it, I always hear amazing things about Tarte's foundations so I really wanted to give another a go. My skin never really got along with the Amazonian Clay foundation as it was too thick, but I knew this foundation was nice and dewy so it wouldn't be too heavy.

I must admit, I think I did solely buy this set for the foundation cause I've wanted to try it for so long. But I did know I would love the eyeshadow palette too, I still swear by the Maneater palette and it still smells as good as when I bought it (chocolate, mm). The lipstick didn't wow me from the photos, nor did the blender as I love my beautyblender. The mascara, on the other hand was another I wanted to try. I always see people using these on Instagram and I love the packaging and always wanted to grab one, so there was another incentive to this!

The foundation applies with a large doe foot applicator like the concealer, and I actually managed to match my shade perfectly and grabbed the shade light-medium honey. The foundation is the dewy version of this range, rather than the matte alternative but I have been quite liking the dewy look lately. It is a build-able foundation that doesn't clog anywhere on my skin, but I do need to set it with my RCMA power to make sure it stays on all day. It has good coverage too and only need really at most two layers for a medium-heavy coverage.

The mascara isn't as good as I had set my hopes on, it tends to flake towards the evening and the bristles come out clumpy from the tube. It does however really separate and lengthen my lashes which I do like the effect of.  The eyeshadows are such pretty shades, however are all shimmer powders. I do like a bit of a mixture between matte and shimmer, but they are fab for Spring and Summer looks. They're quite natural shades and have virtually no fall out, plus they come in a pretty magnetic palette that I love.

The lipstick is a little samey for me, it's the typical dusty rose pink with a sheen finish to it. It comes in handy for a everyday bag lipstick however. My first lipstick actually came snapped, so this is my second one so I'm not feeling how sturdy it might be!

I do quite like the sponge though, surprisingly! I don't quite understand why it has a huge awkward flat end, but it does blend the foundation really well. It isn't as soft as my beautyblender, but it does the same job! It's also a lot bigger than my current blender, so it's quicker to use!
