How to cope with Wanderlust

How to cope with Wanderlust

I don’t know why, but recently I seem to have been making myself super depressed because of the need to fly off somewhere exotic. I do think I’ve developed a ‘taste’, and probably doesn’t help that for the two years since my break up I’ve just thrown myself into constant holidays. But now I’ve found myself at home with no where to go, and I literally don’t know what to do with myself.

They say travel cures the mind, but I do think it sort of just masks any problems you have. So when you find yourself at home with no plans, you sort of get lost with your thoughts a little. So I’ve decided that I need to find a way to cope with the Wanderlust, and find a way to stop wanting to pack up my life and grab a one way ticket (although that sounds super tempting right now).

What to pack for Bali

What to pack for Bali

I’ve never been on a long haul trip before, so packing for it was a little new to me. What do I take? How many clothes do I need for two weeks? What can I travel in comfortably? It was a hard decision. Especially as I haven’t been ‘travelling’ before, I really didn’t know what you would wear when doing all the touristy walks.

We had planned a lot of trips while visiting Bali and I wanted to make sure I was comfortable, so yes as usual, I chose comfort over fashion. I did have a few outfits I wanted to wear there, as I knew they would be pretty, but once I got there and realised just how humid it was I wasn’t bothered. I was more happy to actually be a tourist where I was and not do things ‘for the gram’, which made it so much more enjoyable.

Your Make up vs Humidity

Your Make up vs Humidity

I hate the feeling of my make up melting off, you spend half an hour each morning making your make up banging, for it to melt off on the hot train to work in the morning. Not ideal. Now, I am definitely not complaining about this weather, as it's amazing. But it does absolutely nothing for your make up, or hair for that matter. Summer is always the time I need to put extra effort in for my make up, I don't want it to be a slip in slide from 1pm. Cause my office is hottttttt at the moment, so by 2pm I feel shiny and gross.

So in order to keep my make up on, I always make sure I prime, bake and set. Without these, no matter how much powder I put on, my make up will slide off. Even when I finish the sweatiest gym session ever, my make up is still pretty much in place! (I go straight from work, hence the make up). So I can even go to Nandos with the girls after the gym, though my hair is pretty questionable.

How to organise your wardrobe from scratch

How to organise your wardrobe from scratch
*This post contains affiliate links

I don't know about anyone else, but can you just not find anything in your wardrobe anymore? It's broad sunshine outside, and here I am with an overflowing wardrobe and still nothing to wear? I'm nearly always have to re-iron my clothes because my wardrobe is so packed? Or just hanging them in front of the shower while I get ready, and hope for the best! I love the idea of having a capsule wardrobe, but in the same instance... how do you even choose what to keep and what not to keep?! I can't tell you how many clothing I've forgotten I've put away to Charity and then get stuck what to wear, so how do you only have 10 sets of outfits in a capsule?! The idea is impossible for me!

I've decided that since I don't plan to throw any of my items away for a capsule wardrobe, I instead need to organise mine instead. Organised chaos for a wardrobe isn't cutting it, I barely know what I own anymore?! Instead I need to organise it, so I know what to wear together.. so here is my tips to organise your clothes!
